I don't actually eat any of it but the cravings are always with me. I eat/chew ice all the time, I can't be without it or I spaz out a little. And the LORD spake, saying, "First shalt thou take out the Holy Pin, then shalt thou count to three, no more, no less. Three shall be the number thou shalt count, and the number of the counting shall be three. Four shalt thou not count, neither count thou two, excepting that thou then proceed to three. Five is right out. Once the number three, being the third number, be reached, then lobbest thou thy Holy Hand Grenade of Antioch towards thy foe, who being naughty in My sight, shall snuff it. I am an evil giraffe, and I shall eat more leaves from this tree than perhaps I should, so that other giraffes may die. |

You should look into Mineral and Iron defecinecy. Start eating more dark greens, Like broccoli, spinach. When I was young I liked chewing on broken up red brick and stucco so I can relate to you |

Anonymous Coward (OP) User ID: 3483578 United States 12/28/2011 08:16 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Thanks OP!! Great thread. I crave both dairy and salt excessively. And was diagnosed a while back with an iodine deficiency AND calcium deficiency. You are right on with this info! Quoting: Veggie Gal 1119244 I can only tell you about salt cravings. I used to sit 2-3 nights a week with a couple of limes and a salt shaker. I started taking Kelp tablets and using Hymalian sea salt and the craving disappeared |

I can sit an eat an entire pineapple or drink an entire gallon of orange juice when the craving hits. When I was pregnant, I craved vinegar and grapefruit juice and meat. My all-time fav was pulled pork swimming in vinegar. Quoting: Tawandaaaa Don't know what it is but you should look into Braggs apple cider vinegar it is very good for you It is probably Pantothenic acid or b-5. Your stomach acids are low and body may need more to fully digest food. Pineapple is really good for digestion. Pulled pork/dark meat is full of b vitamins. List the foods your crave and connect the dots between their properties. |

PowerfulPanda User ID: 1404900 United States 01/01/2012 10:45 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I recently had a killer craving for okra which I resolved by eating 2lbs over the course of 36 hours Quoting: Anonymous Coward 1309315 Okra is a very good for you across the board, like dark chocalote and unfiltered coffee (w/o sugar and crap). Calories – 25 Dietary Fiber – 2 grams Protein – 1.52 grams Carbohydrates – 5.76 grams Vitamin A – 460 IU Vitamin C – 13.04 mg Folic acid – 36.5 micrograms Calcium – 50.4 mg Iron – 0.4 mg Potassium – 256.6 mg Magnesium – 46 mg It is very high is fiber def good for digestion along with keeping blood sugar up and not the "carb crash" OP mentions. the folic acid is great to clean your system out. Bet it wasn't pretty after eating that... rememeber protein makes poo solid, not greens... they make it messy.... that is why balance is key. |

I used to crave nuts but now I just crave the sap. I'm thinking about trying to tap a tree in spring, but sadly it doesn't run in the winter months. I am close to going and biting into a branch. Yum. :) are you serious? i call BS because no one craves blue-green algae. If not, your body hates you and you should seriously take multivitamins, probably double a day with food until your mineral cravings go away at least.... rocks and ice. if you really arn't lying, order some real "spirulina" online... it is the best super food on our planet and will correct your cravings if it isn't too bad. be warned.... it is really really disgusting. |

That's a form of seaweed, yes? I went to school with a girl who ate DULSE all the time, snacks, lunch, after school. We'd be chowing down on Oreos and peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, she'd be chewing on a dulse leaf. Seaweed. I tried it once, disgusting. Wonder what became of that girl? To the poster craving the tree branch, maybe you were a deer in a past life! |

Well sure... User ID: 19777276 United States 07/14/2012 08:42 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | It's an inside joke that Hannibal lecter made. Certain foods can't be taken with the psych drugs called MAOI's. The fact that he would say he took his meds with these forbidden foods means he was being sarcastic about taking those meds (the side effects of eating those forbidden foods along with MAOI's is a huge deal). So... He was trying to say he didn't take his meds and he was trying to show them he's a smarta$$. I'm sure I spelled his name wrong so my bad. |
