I am 50 years old, was outsourced twice then finally laid off as my field moved to India. For the past 9 months, I have been drawing unemployment and going to school full-time to retrain for a career in the "new economy." My GPA is a 4.0. I am only 1/3 of the way in my 2-year program. Congress cut off the federal unemployment extension at the end of this year, so I have very little money (Pell grant, which covers tuition and books) to live on while I'm in school.
