Because the price of being a volunteer animal shelter is about wiping me and the wife financially out. But if not us helping a whole lot of unloved animals would be dead. Labor of love really just damn expensive

Someone, down and out, and on top of it, an injury that will probably limit the kind of work you can do (if you can find any). So, I'd cast my vote in your direction.

There are also thousands of Vets whose lives have been almost destroyed, mentally and physically, by the senseless and stupid wars we've engaged in. Some of them, I'm sure could use a handout.

Because I need to go home, and get back to work, and find my friends. Ever since my brother chopped down my trailer with an axe, I've been struggling to get by. I worked my but off to keep a job, riding my bike 20-30 miles every day, untill they closed down my restaurant and moved me even further away. I couldn't keep up, I fell off the wagon, and now I'm living with my dad, in a place I hate, and I give him all my student loan money, and never have enough to buy a car and go back home. He lives on the opposite side of the mountain that I grew up on.
I want to go home so bad, and find another job. I miss working, hanging out with friends, and being able to drive down the road like a regular human being. It sucks when you get older, you make a mistake in life and no one will give you a break- I hate my dad for not helping me get car, for giving up on me. I will never let this happen again! 4 years of riding a bike in your 30's makes you feel real low, top that off with having to live with your father again and it will make you sick on a regular basis. He would rather have me sit in a room in this house in the middle of nowhere bum fuck egypt (if we lived in the city I would walk to find a job), instead of me getting a car and going back yo work. As long as he gets his stinking money for rent for HIS house. I have been locked in a room for 7 months now, I only go out when he gives me a ride to school. And this is totaly acceptable to him. If I had a son, I would want him to be working, not sitting in a room month after month doing nothing- it's disgusting and lazy and is not me.... I don't mind paying rent, but why he wouldn't want for me to buy a car first so I can go get more money, is beyond me. He wants a lot too, more than I've ever paid for my own apartment, and I have zero privacy here. Stress city! I've entered my lazy fathers life, and I have to get out.... Sorry for going off- but I really need to get out, work, do stuff with people live, like I used to before everything got too far away for me to bike to and my arthritis started to take over.
If I had 5,000 dollars, I'd buy a truck and go the hell home, back to work, and reclaim my life!

I'd like to stop working for a while and focus solely on improving myself, through meditation practices and self reflection. I'd go out with a 'free hugs' t-shirt and try and bring smiles on peoples faces.

if what you are saying is true and the OP isn't being an idiot that is pretending [hope he is being truthful] then I hope that you receive it, I could surely do with some good luck but you would use the money far better than I would, IM drowning in poverty at the moment and 5grand would be snatched by the never ending repo-debters that have me near suicide. but only near - Im strong enough I think to keep them out. If I won it Id ask the OP to send it straight to you, because without people like you animals would be a whole lot worse off.
