im a multi millionaire, and i want to give $5000 dollars to one person on GLP, tell me why I should give it to you

A lot of us know that no one is going to help anyone out with money. It's a pipe dream usually! As John Steinbeck said, "if you need help go to the poor. They are the only ones that will ever help. The only ones." But threads like this five people an opportunity to vent and express desires.I for one know that I will have to wait till next semester to buy a car and leave this hell hole I'm in, and I will, and I'll never look back or talk to my father again. I've truly been living in hell. It's funny how lazy people get when they don't have to struggle, or they don't try and get ahead. My fathers lifestyle makes me sick to my stomach.
I've come to realize in life, that if your own family won't help you when you're down, no one will. Society is filled with selfish, lazy, careless, egotistical, shallow people. It is a cold hearted world, and if you ever want to succeed in this place, you have to be a ruthless self serving individual and probably a good liar too. I too thought the thread was beneficial...unless of course people missed the bit "just kidding" and got false hope from the thread.

Whilst many replies were excellent and if I were wealthy I would try to help many many people this answer resonated well

my kid doesnt realise how poor we are, I hide it from her, I pretend sometimes that I have eaten my food before she came home so that she eats 7 days a week, I eat only 3-5 days sometimes, yet would still have passed it to the animal shelter.

Sadly I read that title and thought oh my goodness, I need that. And I do, badly. Then I thought, this is GLP, so most likely it's a bunch of bull so why waste my time.

The sad thing is the vast majority of us do need it. I just to keep my house. The finacial strain my family has endured since my youngest was born is ridiculous. However, then again, I'm sure there is someone out there that needs it much more than I. I only need half of that. If you're for real I hope you find someone who really needs it and will pay it forward OP

I would like this $5000 to be used to purchase 111 bottles of the most unique healing extract called Ganoderma from Malyasia.

I could sure use 5 grand. I am a retired Vet from the Canadian Armed Forces living on a disability pension that is really nothing at all. I have been a foster parent and at one time was raising nine children. Been married and divorced twice. Just lost my home a year ago and am still trying to get back on my feet. Everytime I think I am finally above water again something happens to sink me. I still have four boys living with me and to be honest I have not done anything for just myself in years. I stay home and cook and clean and make sure the kids are all taken care of and by 8 oclock at night I am so exhausted I lie down on the couch and fall a sleep. Have not had my own bedroom or my own bed in years. I give the kids there own rooms. Every thing I do is for my children. The only friends I have are people I talk to on the internet on Facebook. Would just be nice to have the pressure taken away and be able to go to sleep at night and not worry. Even this year for Christmas it is going to break me.Have to keep the kids happy. Oh yeah and I filed for bankruptcy two years ago. And yet I still manage to help out any one out there that needs some caring. I just sent an aqaintance 100 bucks because she has a boy and is pregnant again and is on welfare and was quite upset because she could not even put up a tree this year. She said I was a hero to her. For those who did not hear, over the weekend a Typhoon swept across the Southern Philippines and caused extensive flooding to the Northern portion of Mindanao. Because I in turn (since I really don't need it) would donate it to the local womens and childrens shelter and ask them to use it for meals to feed hundreds (that really could use it).

Another alternative (since you are from Ireland) is for you to donate it to the "Young Life" group that is growing over there. It would go to good use with that program as well.

Reading this thread brought me to tears. GLP is just a small microcosm of the general population, but seeing what some are dealing with is just staggering, and frankly I said a "Thank You" to God for what I DO have, instead of wishing for things I DON'T which would make for a more comfortable life.

What kind of country do we live in, where the Government sends BILLIONS to foreign countries (which the general population never sees) and spends TRILLIONS on warfare (which, unfortunately, the general population sees too much of), and yet leaves its' own citizens in such misery?
