glitch appears on SOHO image prior to Comet Lovejoys perehelion

I saw this video on my feeds list and quickly checked SOHO and that image was there..I haven't had time to look up any other images yet

Hmmm, good find OP but even the poster of the vid states it is an anomolous glitch, prolly the software on SOHO rather than a doorway.

If this were the case, it would have been found ages ago, and based on the rotation, it should reappear with each rotation.

Perhaps, and based upon the date it was recorded, it has something to do with the object that swung around the Sun, but I would put it down to imaging.

The Kraken is about to be released?!

There's a lot of shapes on the Sun...if you look in the same spot it looks rectangular (door like).

these things are simply digital errors. I love that we have soho and internet, but some people who have not watched, create issues where they do not exist.

Not sure..I haven't really had a chance to investigate it yet..I saw it on my feed list and thought it would make for an interesting thread..I'm looking forward to going through the images for that day to see if there are more anomalies

this is really beginning to get interesting considering the Lovejoy comet and the threads about the end of the Mayan Calendar in a few days

OP i saw that glitch aswell but i didnt find it worthy to mention.
i guess its just a bad link between ground control and SOHO.
We had the same images in the past and we will see them again in the future.

I wouldn't doubt it.. someone on another thread called Lovejoy the arrow of Sagittarius..

I looked into that and Sagittarius is located at the galactic center of the Milky Way which is where the famous WOW! signal emanated from
