If this were related to Fukashima I am convinced the effects would be seen in other than just arctic regions where the earths magnetic field is weakest

Another pint of interst is that such reports are not coming from Japan close to the accident sight. The seals there don't have the lesions and as far as I know there have been no reports of radioactive fish caught or anything like that. You're talking about tones of material which is dissipated in trillions of tons of water. It's not Fukashima

The human symptoms are probably caused by radiation, source indeterminate with information given. It could be airborne pollution from Fukashima. I would guess the wahle activity was probably the result of the same thing that is causing it all over the world oceans, powerful sonar being used by the Navy.
