Tom Clancy game casts 99 Percent as domestic terrorists
An upcoming game in the Tom Clancy franchise is ruffling some feathers for depicting a domestic terrorist attack staged by individuals who sound sympathetic to the 99 Percent movement.

“Tom Clancy’s Rainbow 6: Patriots,” due out in 2013 for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC, was teased in a recent trailer released by French publisher Ubisoft, which produced a clip wherein a collection of American mercenaries raid a corporate boardroom and murder the CEO.

“This all started when you became bigger than the governments,” a narrator’s voice explains. “And governments became bigger than the people. That’s how the land of the free became the kingdom of the few — a few like you, Mr. Walsh. It’s time for a new balance of power. You may not answer to the government, but you will answer to us.”

Funny that, I always thought it was the top 0.01% that were the terrorists.

Clancy Games have always had an edge, I wonder if a book will also be published and released?

I don't dig the realism of the characters though this has always been a bugbear, and is due to the modelling, where the speech isn't synched with lip movement, or the hair looks so fake, but it looks good all the same...

I don't think this is an attack on the 99'ers, it looks more like an elite home-grown terrorist organisation operating within US territory...Also it follows the MO of all Clancy games which is its defining feature.

...Plus, COD, Dante's Inferno and no doubt many others also ruffled feathers, but were still released, made bucket loads of income and were deemed successful, R6 is no different.

If I had the money I would play it.

scary shit, is that these type of "games" get promoted by "pop culture" as hip and cool to play

like the current MW3 and COD type games where you are running around shooting people in the head for a +100 points and shit

our young people are playing this and promoting it on several video upload sites, some are getting PAID to play it

agenda?

nahhh

but think you idiots

think

best way to prepare your children to become mercenaries for the corporations is through these video game mediums

Think you say? What about Tom and Jerry, or Roadrunner and Wiley Coyote, Bugs Bunny and Elmer Fud?? Have you morphed into a corporate mercenary as a result?...

The so called violence and propensity towards it is going on everyday in your own home, what difference is there in shooting someone in a cartoon or shooting someone on a video game?

A healthy upbringing enables people to know what is fantasy and what is real, and those who are going to display violence tendencies will do so - regardless of watching a video game and might be based more around what is happening in the home and away from the TV or video games consoles...And what of those who have permits to carry arms, are they all paid corporate assassins in the US? Do you not think many of those who bear arms play these types of games?

From fucking Mexico? Dude, what? You an ex-pat on a gov. pension? People up here are getting real sensitive about how any dissent is being blown of proportion. Looks like a game where scumbags are taking out scumbags...nothing more or less.
