Was it a rip off? No. Some concepts were the same yes but the basics are far off. Both are great reads. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 7553832 United Kingdom 12/22/2011 06:18 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Wasn't the book released years before starship troopers? It must have been about 20 years ago when I read Enders Game. Heinlein's "Starship Troopers" was published in the mid-1970s. I've read the "Ender" books. They start off good, then turn into boring shit. Actually, the "Ender" series is pretty gay, and Mormon. Know what I mean? |

They start off good, then turn into boring shit. The first Ender book was a light read, interesting enough. After that they became hard reading. There are lots of better books out there. As for the movie? It sounds like something I could take the kids to, and enjoy myself. Hope they make a good job of it. |

Starship Troopers is from back when Heinlein wrote what is nowadays called young adult fiction. It was published in 1959. Reaching for the sky makes you taller. Hi! My name is Halcyon Dayz and I'm addicted to morans. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 4183276 United States 12/23/2011 11:30 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I thought ENDER"S GAME was a great novel. The sequels were not all that great. But this first book in the series should make a really good movie. I probably won't go see it, but I'll buy the dvd! Quoting: Anonymous Coward 7377933 There is no way Hollywood is going to he able to depict the epicness of this novel. There is simply too much depth. I will still waste my money tho *sigh* |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 7501755 Australia 12/23/2011 11:55 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | This movie is supposed to be a mash up of Enders Game and Enders Shadow. The books do coincide and share many of the same scenes. I am MOST looking forward to seeing Bean personally, and I will be first in line at the theater to see this one. Filming in Feb-June 2012, release date in 2013. That's the last I heard. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 7190721 2013? we'll all be gone by then. There may still be hope :glpeffect: |

In truth I only saw Starship Troopers and read Ender's Game. Found it very militaristic. Just not my taste is all. Just feels like it's been done before. We are all No bodies until someone recognizes us as Some bodies. |
