Missing is a 22 pistol or revolver, I do have a heritage arms 22lr. In my opinion the best weapon you have is the one you have practiced and trained with. I do not fear the guy that collects guns as a hobby and only shoots 3 or 4 rounds a year. I fear the guy with the mosin, or the 22 how shoots every week and knows the gun. He knows which ammo it will take and where it will hit everytime! Quoting: GaryMule I bought 2 Marlin Model 60 .22 Long Rifles 2 weeks ago. I also have 16,000 rounds. I have 6 combat tours, I have seen shtf in person. ;-) Also 4 -- 12 gauges ![]() Last Edited by ***DRAGOON*** on 12/23/2011 09:55 PM |

Do not take memories of what happened yesterday, into what might happen today. When love is your greatest weakness, you will be the strongest person in the world. |

| Emmeric User ID: 1457343 12/23/2011 09:58 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | It really depends on what you want to do with it. Hunting? .223 or .308. Maybe 30-30. Fighting other peoples? .223 or .308. Fighting foreign armies? .308. Personal close-in protection? .45acp or .357 if you don't care about what's behind your target. Killing birds for food? 12 guage with birdshot... I mean, unless you specify, this is kind of pointless. When blacks have identity it is called pride. When indians have identity it is called culture. When jews have identity it is called history. When WHITES have identity it is called Racism. [link to www.youtube.com] |

Well you are right, it is like I tell my wife when she complains, you have different weapons for different things, just like her shoes. After that she is quiet for a while, well more like a day or so... |

Accepting the fact that everyone dies and not fearing your own death will make the outcome of any battle irrelevant. Do not take that to mean that I cannot or would not hold my own in any conflict, with any weapon or none, cause I can and have, but in the end, even that does not matter. Dust in the wind... |

Guns can run out of ammo. But so long as you have wood , you 'll always have arrows. Also in a SHTF situation, if you're really good at making Bows & Arrows, you'll never be short of a valuable item for trade. How many chicken, and vegetables for a good quality Bow and five arrows?? | Lester User ID: 7608915 12/23/2011 11:01 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Not so much the weapon. More dependent upon The AMMUNITION> I handload match ammunition for .223. 75 or 77gr bthp match bullets. The bullets are tough and hit hard. At 500yds they deliver more energy than a .357mag of 125gr started at 1400fps can deliver at 25yds. Takes a well made rifle to shoot with the accuracy and precision this ammo is suited for: out to 600+ yards. The AR-15 is a fine fighting rifle. I am not much on M4 carbines. Had LMT and Noveske 14.5" barreled uppers and sold them. 20" barrel with 1:7 twist is great for these heavy and longish .224 bullets. .45acp with 230gr or 200gr Flat Point jacketed from a 5" barreled pistol is another dependable recipe. Even standard, generic 230gr roundnose or ball ammo works great. Bullet weight and diameter does the trick for handguns. AR-15 can easily shoot sub .5moa at all distances it is viable, IF (big if) IF you can shoot... Shotgun or .22LR is not a defensive weapon. Shotgun is very specialized, ammo is bulky and heavy, very costly and has limited range. .22LR is good for shooting pests in your garden or henhouse, but not good for much else. A .22lr Conversion Unit for a 1911 .45acp is good for acclimating a new shooter to slide movement and accurate shooting before they learn the .45acp. |
