Quoting: Mbeccu But this was a joke because prayers made in his name are NOT granted. All prayers are answered.......EVERYONE! Now answer me this OP: Why do you seek to control God? god is answerable to his creation. we have rights and he has responsibilities. the same as we create our children. they did NOT ask to be born we , the parents, decided that we want to make children for our own gratification. (some parents make children as cheap work slaves, some have children so they can be looked after in their old age) but that does not mean that just because we make children, we can torment, torture and abuse them as we wish. Children have rights and we have responsibility. I seek that god would abide by the same fair rules, but he refuses to show his face and give account for his actions. as for the prayers being answered, they are not. next time you have a splitting migraine just ask god for a quick relief. you will not yet it. next time you or one close to you gets cancer, you ask for a miracle of instant healing. You will not get it. so what is teh point of stressing yourself with praying if prayers are not answered? MBECCU |

I am told that each and everyone one of us requested to be born! I seek that god would abide by the same fair rules, but he refuses to show his face and give account for his actions. Quoting: Mbeccu I've seen "God's face"........how is it that YOU have not? as for the prayers being answered, they are not. Tell me something: Why should God continue to heal people, when they run right out and do the very thing that made them sick in the first place, all over again? ....And for your information, I have seen many healed of Cancer through prayer! As well; I have even seen "migraines" dissolved away! Where were you when this was taking place? At your local pub??? so what is teh point of stressing yourself with praying if prayers are not answered? Quoting: Mbeccu Stress? What stress??? I find only peace & joy in prayer........and all of mine get answered.......I wonder why YOURS don't? |

God doesn't have to PROVE anything to you. Would you really want God to give you your dream house if He knew that your child would tumble down the stairs and die? You don't want prayers answered...you want wishes granted...and it will not happen. I have seen enough of my prayers answered to know that praying works. I know I can trust that the answers I haven't seen yet are ok behind the scenes, too. |

JATMON User ID: 7518028 United States 12/24/2011 09:51 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I don't ask for anything, I found it doesn't work. Then I realized it's not about asking for stuff, or for outcomes of any kind. It's not about what you want, because God doesn't care about what you want. Now when I pray it's just an act of submission. Stuff like.. "You're everything, I am nothing. You're great I'm not. I'm not worthy." Anonymous Coward User ID: 5099012 United States 12/24/2011 09:58 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | The typical Christian says there are three answers to prayer. Yes, no, and later or maybe. If this were true it would be mathmatically quantifiable. You would take ten thousand sick people and have a group of Christians pray for five thousand. The group of five thousand would heal at a higher percentage than the unprayed for five thousand. Even a small percentage would be measureable and repeatable. If this were possible Christians would have done this and shoved it in our face many many times already. The fact that they don't and won't give a straight answer as to why they don't is all the information I need. Christianity and prayer is ridiculous superstitous nonsene. Only brainwashed or mentally damaged people still believe in it. |

samanthasunflower User ID: 5364986 United States 12/24/2011 10:18 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Sometimes the answer is no, or not yet. Sometimes the answer is yes. Last year I prayed for help getting some new work pants. I had just torn my last good pair of work pants and had no money to replace them. Less than two hours later I was given 3 pairs of pants, 2 that still had the price tags attached. I was at a farmers market, somewhere where I wasn't expecting to be given clothes, and someone mentioned that she was on her way to Goodwill and invited us to look through her stuff first. God does work in mysterious ways. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 1336854 United States 12/24/2011 11:08 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | People of all races and religions, when confronted with situations of great stress, pray to their god for a miracle, with great fervor. Quoting: Mbeccu When did this custom of praying to god start? and why is it still done considering it does not work and prayers are never answered? it seems to be an innate instinct. I estimate that at least 1 person in 7 prays to god everyday for an urgent need. that's 1 billion prayers a day. who is in charge of acknowledging and dealing with all these requests? and on what basis are they granted or declined? should there be an appeal system in place? whereby if a request is not granted, one can appeal to a higher angel for a review? are prayers requests granted on the basis of race or religion? are christians granted more miracles than muslims or buddhist or hindus? I wish we had better instructions. Jesus specifically asks us to pray and to ask, in his name, and prayer requests SHALL be granted. But this was a joke because prayers made in his name are NOT granted. One would think that small, easy to accommodate requests, such as relief from a sore tooth, would be granted more quickly and copiously, but they are not. I have tried many many time with absolutely no result. so, does anyone know how one should pray for garanteed results? People pray because the have been conditioned to believe it has a chance of working. They also believe they have a chance of winning every time they buy a lottery ticket. Both for the same reason; They heard of someone, somewhere, who got results. Every once in a while, someone gets something small which just reinforces belief. Half the problems people face would be solved through hard work. The other half could be prepared for by saving the money they spent on lottery tickets... |

I have tried many many time with absolutely no result. so, does anyone know how one should pray for garanteed results? Yes. but not guaranteed. there is a fluidity to the universe that cannot be contained by absolutes. god is much more than standard religions teach and is ultimatley mysterious and unknowable. However you can try this approach. and remember to never pray in desperation because you will receive more situations in which you become desperate. Monitor your thoughts because thoughts are things. thought paired with emotion is/are a very powerful thing. attraction: thought attracts. use your thought and concentrate it, visualization and immmersing yourself in the thing desired in thought form acts as an imprinter of future events. intention: the intention behind the thought is what will be answered. be specific. creative infinity will know if it is appropriate or not. all desires are granted whether perceived or not. this takes self knowledge. allowance: allowing things to happen without you directing them, for the best benefit of all involved, always keeping in mind the prayer. balance: allowing all to come into balance, allowing the prayer to be answered. thankfulness. I find that prayer works best in groups with linked hands. it is the power of god moving through each which concentrates the force. God is love never forget it. god is real and is aware of all things, yes, even YOU!. Open yourself. that's all I got. |

Just because there are MANY "perceptions" of God, doesn't mean that one group has a monopoly of God's power, over another group! God doesn't work that way!!! Your awareness of God within you, is strictly personal.......and "This is Life Eternal, that you might come to know God"! So the work is YOURS.......or not! :( |
