How they cured my brother's advancing Multiple Sclerosis
About 2 years ago or more, my brother, Mark, who was soon to be 40, found a miracle. He had progressively debilitating MS, and it was taking away his functions, slowly but surely. He also was losing his ability to perform his job as a journeyman pipefitter. Fatigue, double vision, mental functioning, breathing and motor problems were just some of his issues. Then, he heard of a new study/trial being performed up in Northern California at Stanford for a breakthrough procedure to treat MS. He studied up on it and jumped on the bandwagon right away. He was up there within 2 weeks getting his evaluation and surgery. After that, they closed the study to see how patients were faring. Studies were also going on in places like South America, and Europe. Many MS patients were hoping to get a shot at it, as there was not much hope otherwise for many of them other than a steady degeneration towards total disability.

My brother's change was just amazing. He began to quickly return to mental clarity, energetic, strong, better than ever before. It was truly remarkable. He became very involved online with helping others seeking out info on the treatment, did his own video documenting the process, really helped advocate for the treatment. Not too long ago, Montel Williams finally had his procedure done. It is called CCSVI.

The amazing thing about this treatment is that it is not a drug. It is based on a discovery that the main neck veins that drain the blood out of the brain and back toward the heart were flattened and very much blocked in most MS patients tested. This was never really apparent before as the flattening was only visible if looked at from the side, more than from the front on scans and such. The solution was to stent these veins, restoring blood flow and function/health to these patients. The blocked blood flow pre-treatment is what is theorized to cause the brain lesions and neurologically related issues that develop in MS. I heard it is possibly iron deposits from the blood pooling in the brain. I am not an expert on it, I am just sharing what I remember my brother telling me.

Here is a video explaining the procedure. If you want to see the many patient testimony videos, just look at the YouTube page this video is on and you will find a large number of stories of what happened when others had this procedure. It's always nice to be able to share hope with others who are suffering with such an awful condition.

My brother is now 42, and was able to return to work, and is helping his wife raise their three young children, ages 1 to 6. I cannot imagine what his life would be like now (or theirs) if he had not had this opportunity at life again.

Here's more information. It is also referred to as "liberation procedure" - liberating your blood flow again, and your body from MS.

Re: How they cured my brother's advancing Multiple Sclerosis
NOW they have found an even BETTER treatment than what cured him - no surgery necessary - it is VERY exciting and has implications in SO many diseases and conditions that affect the brain - mind blowing - they are looking for patients in southern California to help - no cost... bumpbumpbump5a

It's not a pill, not a surgery, not an exercise, not a diet - it hits at the root of the issue, literally

Yes, this has been standard treatment in Italy and Europe. Too bad it's not as widely accepted her in the states....

5 stars, this thread should be blown the fuck up big time. this is one of the sad few accoplishments of today when trillions that should be put into science are put into war instead.

Re: How they cured my brother's advancing Multiple Sclerosis
I don't want to put a damper on this thread because as a person with MS, I think this is wonderful. However, your brother got in on the ground floor if he had his surgery two years ago. Try getting in to get that done now. The FDA and everyone who can get involved has been trying to slow down this process with claims that not enough clincal trials were done etc. They have gone as far as to discredit the doctor who discovered this issue and process.

One issue is that the arteries can become blocked again within a short time for some and the process can start all over again. So a doctor in NYC tried to put a stent in a person's artery/vein and it was not successful. The patient died due to complications from the procedure. The FDA had a heyday with this.

It's all so stupid....I would gladly have this procedure to stop my disease process even if my arteries blocked again. I don't know how many times a procedure like this can be done but I would try anyway.

Neurosurgeons are not doing this procedure if they are not doing so under the guise of a clinical trial, even though the doctor who discovered the procedure offered his protocol to any doctor who wanted to do this procedure, because the FDA threw the monkey wrench in the mix. Think about how many pharaceutical companies would loose should this procedure be found to irradicate MS. Ask me how much my treatments cost. It's said that the blocked arteries (not normally checked with the average ultrasound of the coratid arteries) cause blood to reflux back into the brain and cause deposits, mostly iron to build up in the brain, thus starting the MS disease process.

For me, it's a no brainer that I feel this surgery would be good for me. I'm so glad your brother got to have this surgery before it became so difficult to have it done. I've been on a waiting list with a university in Buffalo, NY for over two years now and no word.

Re: How they cured my brother's advancing Multiple Sclerosis
Can I get a TL;DR version?

Like, in 1 sentence, what cured it?
