Over the past few weeks, the NOT made in China ones have sold and sold and the percentage of "MADE IN CHINA" has got higher and higher. By this morning, in Carlton Cards, for instance, I could find only a few printed in England and three )yes, just THREE) printed in the USA. Everything else was "PRINTED IN CHINA". Regardless of cost, Quebec people are only buying CHinese printed cards and goods when there is nothing else, yet retailers just keep piling up Chinese goods and are left baffled when they just sit unsold on the shelf. Are they really this stupid and disconnected from the consumer? Why can't retailers in Quebec start waking up and a stop trying to sell Quebecers the PRINTED or MADE IN CHINA JUNK. WE DON'T WANT IT!!!

A local retailer opened to try selling cheap Chinese cookware. Their debts got bigger and bigger until they collapsed. A nearby Sun Tan store took them over, dumped the Chinese cookware and bought in German at nearly ten times the price. They cleared $100,00 in profits in three months and have moved to a way bigger, premium location in the mall. In Ontario, different story, and there in lies the problem. Big chain retailers keep assuming that they can sell this crap and they keep opening and closing branches, unable to understand why the goods are always a tough sell. Meanwhile, the local charity store is always packed by folk trying to buy the same goods, secondhand from an era when they were still made in Canada or made in the USA.
