You just don't get it do you............ the bison are not being conveniently relocated. They are being reintroduced to different places and this has been on going for many decades. It is happening with plains bison from in the US and it is happening with plains and wood bison in Canada.

It is part of an ongoing management plan in Canada and the US to maintain a minimum number of disease free herds in different locations where the herd ranges do not overlap. That way if a given herd accidentally contracted a disease from domestic cattle or a herd was wiped out from something, they still have disease free herds to use for transplants at a later date.

In the last few decades there have been a number of first nations people who now want bison on their land as it is part of their past/culture. This is in the US and Canada. Different herds in different areas with different genetics are the key to healthy herds.

There is nothing 'convenient' about this.

Sheesh!!!

If what you say about the bison was true then why are they not doing the same thing with the elk, the grizzlies and their oh so special Canadian wolves that they re-introduced to Yellowstone a couple decades ago? It's not like bison are rare any more........... there are hundreds of thousands of them in different herds across Canada and the US.
