If a significant enough earthquake were to strike the Sour Creek dome, the results could be mild or catastrophic. A good quake could crack the dome and result in a volcano being formed by magma pushing up to the surface through cracks or in a worst case scenario, cause Yellowstone to erupt. Yellowstone erupting would be an ELE. Trillions of tons of volcanic ash, debris and gas would be propelled into the atmosphere, much of the finer material would reach the upper atmosphere. What would follow is the blocking of the sun and it's warming radiation for many years. It would be a global event and there would be no place to hide from the ice age that would follow. In other words, it would be the end of the world as we know it. It could go at anytime, nobody really knows when exactly.
