It is said that old faithful is changing to i watch the cam almost every morning and you have tell that old faithfuls eruptions are changing some of them are lasting up to 30 mins before it slows down and sorter times between some eruptions. I have also noticed a lot of trees have died on the cam in the back ground when they zoom in you can see that a lot of trees have been dieing off.

Wow thanks for the link harrison! So, in the event of something major going on there in yellowstone, would it be visible on this cam?

Could be, however if an eruption at Yellowstone occurs, the eruption epicenter would at one of the Resurgent Domes, either Sour Creek Dome or Mallard Lake.....Mallard Lake is close to Old Faithful though....

Harrison is basically saying that it is worth keeping an eye on Old Faithful, Why??? Because Old Faithful near perfectly runs on clockwork.....If any changes happen with Old Faithful could indicate a problem.....That's why it's worth keeping an eye on the timings as well

Yep i have been watching for at least 1-2 years so far and it seamed normal but know old faithful seems like it is not acting the same anymore.

And when the cam is facing old faithful you can see the trees in the back ground and there have been patches of gray were the trees are dieing and it seems like there are a lot more then before.

What I do know about the trees is this.......but don't know if the this affected the trees near Old Faithful....

There has been a number of forest fires in the past...Pelican Cone was hit really badly in 1988...

Aircraft dropped 14 million gallons of fire retardant chemicals and 10 million gallons of water on the flames. Crews fought through old growth, new growth and meadow, the calico pattern left by fires of other times.

The Yellowstone fires of 1988 together formed the largest wildfire in the recorded history of Yellowstone National Park.

There has been a significant quake in the Park.....

Madison River & Moose Creek show the quake the most at 16:20 UTC, as you can see from the link below, most of the sensors picked it up...

I actually thought this may of been an EQ somewhere else in the world because as you know, Yellowstone can pick up on large Earthquakes....After Checking USGS, I see there was a fairly large EQ of 5.8 in the Phillipines at 16:36 UTC, looking at the times though, Yellowstone picked up an earthquake before the Phillipines.....As there is no other EQs listed around that time, then we can safetly say that it was either in or around the border of the park...

Also, it seems like Maple Creek, Horse Butte & Denny Creek graphs are either offline or malfunctioning...

Mt Sheridan and lake Mary have also picked up in activity the graphs are almost the same.

why isn't' there anybody to explain what's going on at yellowstone? If it was only one station whit this information you could think there is something wrong with the seismograph, but there are different stations with elevated activity.
Do the scientists have a long weekend or something?

I was wondering that too sometimes, why the constant shut down of Pelican cove to turn it back on later, off and on, off and on, I have absolutely no idea about volcanoes and seismographs but I can tell something's not right, they can at least give an explanation.

There is a written protocol they have to follow for officially raising the alert level at Yellowstone.

I speculate that they are very cautious about raising the alert level or making any public statements until they are *really* sure they need to do so. Imagine all the people who saw that 2012 John Cusak movie utterly freaking out and losing their shit if USGS even hinted at increased activity.

it started with pelican cove and no one explained...now with so many picking it up they really should come out and say something...i get having protocol but whats the use if its nothing and you have not just glp but many others looking at this going what the fuck? i dont want to worry about this but its kind of hard not to.

Hi all, not been around lately due to a random IP ban....

There has been a significant long quake or tremor in the last 20 mins, around 20:05/20:10 UTC which was picked up by a number of stations...........

What is interesting is the distance between Soda Butte & Moose Creek, 69.87km. It was picked up on both of them.

The only EQ to happen around that time was a 5.7 in Vancouver Island, Canada at 20:05 UTC...........

in this video, Dutchsinse makes that connection to the 5.7 off Vancouver Island. I recommend the whole video, but at 3:35 is where he ties it to Yellowstone.
