What you need to be real and right within yourself in your own living, experiencing and relating will not be found in what society makes popular on the Web or elsewhere, nor does it come from trying to live up to the expectations of others. You can increase your inner strength and personal persistence in what is real and right for you. The greatest, truest rewards come from your own anonymous, private work on yourself. Your growing spiritual maturity is a quiet, unknown happiness and personal power that requires no recognition or applause from the world. All the excitement and turmoil in the outer world about the evil and catastrophic trends of the outer world are nothing but a huge distraction from our real living, our direct spiritual development. In spite of all the outer appearances and hidden maneuvers or conspiracies going on in the world, we can break the psychological chains that bind us to futile normalcy and meaningless activities. We can connect with hidden guidance from deep within our real inner self. We can wake up and walk out of the dark dungeons of social futility and debilitating relationships.

Trying to be popular, to be a figure in the popular, to be another outer, superficial authority or know-it-all in a world with already too many such superficial authorities or know-it-alls, is never the right solution to your problem. Trying to build up your social self-importance is a path of personal disintegration and futility. What you need are inner victories in overcoming bad habits by replacing them with good habits, in putting a stop to your usual futile emotional reactions in favor of a lofty new awareness and growing inner strength. It is these and other inner, unsung and unknown personal victories in your own body and mind that give you real power of fulfillment, happiness and the higher developments of your consciousness. Let your contributions to humanity and the world be quietly real and as anonymous as possible so that your self-improvements will not be disrupted by foolish and lazy persons or those who always attack anyone who has got something they haven’t got.

You do not need to be impressive or respected with persons you believe are important for your outcomes. Debilitating people are never important for your outcomes. They will have to do what they are destined to do whether they like it or not. You do not have to have useless, unpleasant meetings with proud, neurotic and unhappy people who never understand or really agree. This is because they are there to drain your inner life, not to understand or truly agree with mutual harmony. When such pseudo-friends or pseudo-associates are giving you unpleasant, angry thoughts, you can and must refuse to go down that psychic road they have created for you by trying to maneuver you into giving them unnecessary attention. Such spiritually dead people cannot be improved by you. No insight or explanation from you (or anyone else for that matter) will ever be truly and rightly received by such proud, selfish and unhappy pretenders. Trying to talk to those who cannot listen and appreciate, to those who never inquire with respect and receptivity, is always a waste of life-breath, which always leaves you drained, empty and nervous. Deadend relationships and angry discussions never accomplish anything good or real. The effort to be popular with a target person or group where you are not naturally appreciated for real is always a losing proposition. The more you have to argue and convince, the less valuable to win the argument or create temporary, unnatural conviction. Whatever you may seem to win will always cost you far more than you imagine. Unnatural, immature and unhealthy relationships invariably wreck our life and betray our confidence, leaving us to have to sadly pick up the pieces and move on.

The actual quality of who or what you cultivate in the garden of your life is what determines your destiny and fulfillment on this Earth. You must learn to distinguish between people or situations that are weeds or flowers. This is your learning task in relationship. You must turn on a real inner light that shines on your situations, transactions and relationships.

Now, remember, you will have to choose between teachings that only tell you what you want to hear and the Higher Teachings that tell you what you need to hear and learn. The Higher Teachings will always be less popular than the useless teachings that cause people to flock in large numbers. Try to be more aware of how this works than you normally are.
