Do you get offended when someone calls you a liar?
"Do you get offended when someone calls you a liar?"

If so... Why is that?

You ARE a liar. You have lied many times since you were born. Hundreds, more likely thousands, and even 10's of thousands of times.

Every man walking the face of the earth is a liar. I do concede that some people are far more habitual about it than others, but nonetheless, everybody has lied MANY times.

If a person tells you that they "don't lie", they are lying to you, right then and there. If a person tells you that they "hate liars", they are obviously saying that they hate themselves too, since they too, are a a liar.

Yes, some people do a good job of minimizing their lying, but under the right circumstances, will revert back to lying, like a fish to water.

If you have any understanding of human nature at all, you know this is true. It may not be comfortable, but it's true.

I am one of those people who does my best to be truthful as much as possible, but in certain situations where someone (or myself) might be harmed, I have found myself to be willing to lie to prevent it. In certain situations where I might hurt someones feelings, I will lie to prevent it. And I am one of those people who does my best to tel it like it is, and I don't sugarcoat things much at all.

But ANYTHING that distorts or twists the truth, even if it is merely an exaggeration, is indeed, a lie. To say otherwise... Is a lie.

Some of us have learned as we grow older that we cannot remember the lies we told and that telling the truth is best policy. By telling the truth your stories will always check as valid. The only difference is the details of the stories not the contradictions.

Incorrect.

When someone accuses another of being a liar they are referring to one instance, they are not referring to if they've lied within their life-time or not.

Unless of course you're referring to a compulsive liar.

In a 1950's Websters dictionary, one of the definitions of the word "Politician", was "Professional Liar".

You are the one who is "incorrect" hon...

The word "Liar" simply means "a person who lies". It makes NO REFERENCE to a singular event as you erroneously contend.
If you do want to specifically reference a singular event, then you would say, "you are lying"... Not "You are a liar".

Now saying "You are lying" may (or may not be true) in a case by case basis. But calling someone a "Liar" is ALWAYS true, under ANY circumstances, which was my entire point.

Which you seem to have missed.

Re: Do you get offended when someone calls you a liar?
I do get frustrated when I'm telling the truth and get called a liar (or shill lol) I accept that I, like everyone else, tell lies from time to time (rarely for me), but I am far more passionate and logical when I speak the truth, and hate when people can't see that.

You are lying right now. And I am far from being a "slimy pathological liar", as you put it.

I guarantee that you lie from time to time, depending on the situation. To say otherwise even contradicts the scriptures, which plainly state that "every man is a liar".
