I hear this often threads about this topic and have questioned the same. However, when I see the physical description of the straight it makes me wonder if it is at all possible.

You don't need to block it completely. Just put enough debris and wrecks in the shipping lanes that it's not worth the risk to traverse it.

I don't feel like another war but it would give pres obama props write now but I have read articles where gas here could go as high as 15 $ gal. You want to talk about crushing the economy that would do it. So I say diplomacy but thats not to popular.
