Strange lights last night seen all over the world. Hovering amber orbs. No media coverage.
I live in Phoenix. Last night around 7:30pm, I went outside to get something out of my car and noticed a strange orange light hovering in the sky, to the west/southwest of us. At first I thought it was a plane or helicopter, but as I walked back toward the house, I noticed there was a line of six, in an arc formation like a parenthesis.

I ran inside to get my mother, and we rushed back outside to watch the lights from the street. As we watched, the lights slowly ascended up higher into the sky, and slowly faded as they rose. I have never seen anything like this.

This morning, I checked online to see if anyone else had seen these strange amber orbs, and as it turns out - people saw strange orange lights ALL OVER THE WORLD. Some people saw them on Christmas as well. What is going on?

Here is a link to a forum where people are posting about what they saw last night:

One woman said she took pictures and nothing showed up. Apparently there's a long queue on that forum as they sift through all the posts that are coming through. I expect someone will have a photo soon.

That sounds like over the Gila Bend gunnery range. Monday nights is when the jets at Luke AFB take off and land a lot so maybe you saw the balloon/targets?

That's the same thing they said the Phoenix Lights were btw, but people saw something huge over Phoenix that night, as well as passing over cars on the I-17 and blacking out the stars overhead.

The fact that they rose and then went away sounds like targets.

At first the skeptic in me thought it was just a flare, or something coming into the atmosphere, or some weird experimental shit out at Luke AFB, but seeing the orbs -ascend- and fade was what weirded me out. Reading the reports this morning from Australia, California, Florida, etc. is what confirmed for me that this was definitely something strange.

I'm not going to immediately jump and say 'UFOs!' but I cannot explain this. It was cool as hell, though :)

From the meteor forum I linked. Some are from Christmas, some are from last night:

"Amber fire balls diagonal pattern San Diego

On 12/25/11 Near 6:30 pm pacific time from santee, ca I observed about four amber fire balls hoovering in the southeastern sky. I saw them as I parked my vehicle. By the time I exited vehicle with Xmas pies and stuff there the highest one was still there and lasted for few seconds. Got out to street and they all vanished without a trace before pic could be taken. Called FAA to inquire but mailbox is full. Sheriff station doesn't know yet may think I had too much egg nogg lol"

"Seven of us saw the same thing last night (12/25) in Sarasota, FL around 9:00 PM. In the east, I saw four large red orange globes in the sky. They were in a diagonal line, and at first I thought they were stars and the handle of the Big Dipper. But no other stars were visible, and these balls of light were very bright. I pointed them out to the other guests, and we watched them slowly drift up and to the north, and then suddenly vanish. Then we saw three more rise up from the ground in the distance off to the east, and do the same thing. Slowly rise and drift a little north, and then suddenly vanish. Quite a Christmas spectacle!"

"I live in tacoma washington and I saw 7 orange orbs coast over the sky last night around 11:50 pm."

"red lights in sky
Dear San
diego man you didnt hve too much egg nog as we here in huntington beach, california just up the coast from you saw the 12 amber red lights as well as we reported to this website this is eric) we saw on our patio at 530-545pm pst today."

My brother was camping out by the Superstition Mountains with his friends when the big Phoenix Lights happened. He and his friends said that whatever it was blacked out the stars - it was HUGE and silent. I'm still jealous that he saw them and I didn't :)

Hmmmmmmmm...........Orange Lights, Orange Sky Recently....

Ain't it strange that a lot of poeple on GLP have been posting that the SKY is 'ORANGE'.....

It was the same here in UK last night, the sky was Orange....

OP, you might be better putting ORANGE in your title, you might get an influx of people who have said the sky is Orange.

Edit: Scrub this ^^^^^^^, noticed your an AC, sorry...

Re: Strange lights last night seen all over the world. Hovering amber orbs. No media coverage.
Another post, this guy is near my area (I'm in the West valley):

"Peoria az. 12/26/2011 6:30PM from west to South east. 12 bright red orbs flying across the sky at a high rate of speed. About the speed of an f-16 at 5,000 on final approach. Yet were seen going away from Luke afb. Had no sound and all vanished after about two minutes from original visibility. Shortly after I saw two large disks with a slight Hugh. These discs were several thousand feet directly above moving in the opposite direction of the red/amber orbs. They made a slight sound no crackling nothing. I watched them move north west then suddenly move to the south west. I was out in the back yard about 8:30pm when a sudden bright flash of light appeared right above me. It was so bright it looked as if it were day light or a camera flash because I could see my shadow on the ground. I asked my sister if she had just taken a picture of me with her camera, but she only had her phone and was on her phone so she could not have done it. I then checked my facebook and One of my FB friends who was a few miles away saw the exact same thing with one other witness. It has been a crazy week with UFO sightings in the Phoenix metro area. As I reported my sighting on FB more people have come forward with their own sightings. Something big is happening."

Re: Strange lights last night seen all over the world. Hovering amber orbs. No media coverage.
This description from Christmas Day in New Zealand closely matches what we saw last night:

"Situated in Rangiotu, Palmerston North, New Zealand. We witnessed three strange lights they came from the south towards us at 21.50pm 25 December 2011, they were three red lights we went outside but there was no noise the first was quite a distance away from the other two and seemed to hover in the sky above and then disappeard then the next two seemed to take the same path and disappeared at the same place."

These lights were just ... strange. Hovering, slowly fading, and moving -upwards- in an arc pattern. Six of them. They were fairly high in the sky, too, because Venus and the gorgeous crescent moon last night were at almost the same eye level. Venus was also super-bright last night.

Agreed. I was ready to cast this aside as well, since we do live near an air force base and there's always a lot of strange stuff in the sky toward that area.

... But people all over the country and world, all seeing hovering orange orbs, all within a day or two of each other? It can't be a coincidence.

I'm excited about this :)

Maybe we should all go outside tonight at the same time with laser pointers or flashlights and see what happens. Would be interesting to perhaps do this every night, considering how many sightings are being reported.
