Best Wishes for a good outcome and a healthy baby after the experts are able to give her the care she needs.

I worked in a NICU for 8 years. Hang in there. Everything looks very frightening the first time you go in. Ofen very sick babies improve quite a lot in a few days with the advances of modern medicine and expert neonatal care.

Try not freak out about the baby being on a ventilator. That does not meal the baby can't breathe at all. The vent will be able to give the baby the lung support needed and can be weaned off. Of course the doctor will keep the parents updated with the plan of care and prognosis.

Just be there for Mom with loving support. Help Mom to get started pumping breast-milk. That is one thing that only she can do for her baby. That will give her a sense that she is helping. They will freeze the colostrum and breast-milk so that your granddaughter will be able to have it once she is more stable and able to be fed. This way she will not miss a drop of her mother's precious milk and especially the colostrum which is rich with passive immunity to protect the baby.

Lord, thank You for all You've given us, and the OP's beautiful new grandaughter. I just lift this baby up right now to You. I claim healing in Jesus' name. The word says that by Your stripes we are healed. It also says that where 2 or more are gathered in Your name, there You will also be. We are all stepping out in faith together and believing that You will heal this child. Not only will she be healed, but she will so healthy that doctors will be amazed. It will be as if nothing ever happened. I also pray for this child's mother, that she would recover completely from her surgery. I pray for the father as well, that he would be able to help take care of his wife and new child. We know that we have to believe in order for You to heal her, and we are believing with all of our heart. We thank You for what You will do in this family's life as if it's already been done. Amen.

Prayers and well wishes for you all

There have been some beautiful prayers said tonight for this child and her family. I'm adding my prayer to theirs as well. May God bless your family and provide his healing touch to your little grand-daughter.

UPDATE.

My daughter and her husband are extremely depressed. Jaleah is SLIGHTLY better today, according to the nurse. She is still having a hard time breathing, and is on oxygen and antibiotics. I called my Pastor this morning. He is praying for her, but will not be able to go see her or my daughter today. My pastor just had a stent put in his heart a week ago, and is still not up to par.
At the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, only the parents are allowed to visit, with generally no exceptions. Since my daughter will be in the hospital for at least the next 3 days, I can get permission to see my grandaughter in my daughters place. I hope to get up there sometime today. I just hope I do not fall apart. It has finally started to hit me, and I cannot stop crying. I am tough as nails, except when it comes to my children and grandchildren. Then I turn into a blubbering mass of jello.

may Jaleah's breathing come into openness and ease as the trauma of her birthing be released and replaced with hands and hearts that love her.

Tiger, please tell your children to immediately lose their "depressed" state. Have them meditate, instead, on this baby being healthy, happy and bathed in God's loving golden light. Surround the child in love, peace and harmony.

You too, Tiger. Call upon the strength of your totem - the strength of the tiger is obviously part of your psyche- feel your strength and your courage. Feel it wrap around that child, through God's loving grace.

You and I share a totem. Tigers are associated with water, the new moon, maternal instincts and healing.
