Britain and France said Thursday they are not ruling out any options in Syria, including a military-enforced no-fly zone to protect a safe area on the ground for thousands of people fleeing the escalating civil war.LINK

France and Britain warned Syria's President Bashar Assad on Thursday that military action to secure safe zones for civilians inside the country was being considered despite the paralysis of the UN Security Council over how to end the 17-month conflict.

Syrian delegates walk out after Morsi slams Assad

Mursi, a moderate Egyptian Islamist, said solidarity with the Syrian people “against an oppressive regime that has lost its legitimacy is an ethical duty” and a strategic necessity.

“We all have to announce our full solidarity with the struggle of those seeking freedom and justice in Syria, and translate this sympathy into a clear political vision that supports a peaceful transition to a democratic system of rule that reflects the demands of the Syrian people for freedom.”

His words prompted Syrian delegates to leave the hall.

White House: Iran has limited time to stop atomic work

[link to www.ynetnews.com]
The White House said on Thursday that it was closely studying a UN report that showed Iran has possibly expanded uranium enrichment machines and increased stockpiles of nuclear material.

"We are closely studying the details of the report, but broadly speaking it is not surprising that Iran is continuing to violate its obligations," White House Press Secretary Jay Carney told reporters. Carney said the US has made it clear to Iran that they have a limited window of time to stop its atomic work.

Officials warn of terrorist attacks in Southern California: 'Active' Plots Linked To Iran, Hezbollah, Other Groups...
Senior police officials warned of potential terrorist attacks in Southern California amid a growing risk of war breaking out overseas.

KNX 1070's Ed Mertz reports the LAPD is concerned with what it calls a number of “active” plots in the Southland.

“In this region we have active terrorist plots, in this region, right now,” said Deputy Chief Michael Downing, commanding officer of the LAPD’s counter-terrorism unit.

The Department is currently tracking “government of Iran operatives, Hezbollah, sovereign citizen, homegrown violent extremists, animal rights groups” and others, Downing said.

VIENNA—The Iranian scientist considered Tehran's atomic-weapons guru until he was apparently sidelined several years ago is back at work, according to United Nations investigators and U.S. and Israeli officials, sparking fresh concerns about the status of Iran's nuclear program.

Mohsen Fakhrizadeh, widely compared with Robert Oppenheimer, the American physicist who oversaw the crash 1940s effort to build an atomic bomb, helped push Iran into its nuclear age over the past two decades. A senior officer in the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, he oversaw Iran's research into the construction and detonation of a nuclear warhead, Western officials say.

That is a big red dot of Iran running through the barricades for break-out! If there was a detonation, it was in North Korea but why this guy took two years off seems to be a good question too! Great find.

I found this but he has been back in the picture since Nov 2011
An internal 2007 Iranian document leaked to the Sunday Times identified Fakhrizadeh as the chairman of the Field for the Expansion of Deployment of Advanced Technology (FEDAT), the cover name for the organization running Iran's nuclear weapons programme. The document, entitled Outlook for special neutron-related activities over the next 4 years, lays out a four-year plan to develop a uranium deuteride neutron initiator.
