CIA: Iran Nuke Expansion


Iran expanded its nuclear program last year with continued uranium enrichment and growing infrastructure development, according to an annual CIA report to Congress.

Iran has produced 4,900 kilograms of low enriched uranium.

“Iran continued to expand its nuclear infrastructure and continued uranium enrichment and activities related to its heavy water research reactor” contrary to U.N. resolutions, the report says.

Underground centrifuge cascades—banks of devices that produce enriched uranium—at Natanz also progressed, with more advanced centrifuges tested and developed at a pilot plant.

As of November, Iran’s nuclear material stockpile included 4,150 kilograms of low-enriched uranium hexafluoride and about 80 kilograms of 20-percent enriched uranium hexafluoride gas.

The report stated that Iran’s centrifuges decreased in number from 8,900 to 8,000 between August 2010 and November 2011. However, the number in operation increased sharply from 3,800 in August 2010 to around 6,200 currently.

A second major nuclear facility was identified in the report as the underground Fordow Fuel Enrichment Plant near Qom. Fordow has begun production of “near-20 percent enriched uranium,” the report said. Fordow is a production center for uranium enrichment as a centrifuge research and development center.

The Iranian nuclear power plant at Bushehr began low-level reactor operations last year, but the plant is not yet operating at full power.

Enriched uranium hexafluoride can be converted chemically into uranium dioxide or metal. Converted metal-enriched uranium is used for nuclear weapons.

Israel Goes on High Alert for PassoverThe IDF, whose tradition of mass leaves for Passover ended last week, will also be on high holiday alert following a rocket attack on Eilat

It was the first the rocket attack on Israel from Egypt since the collapse of the regime of Hosni Mubarak more than a year ago.

However, In August of 2010, five Katyusha rockets hit the city of Eilat. Two exploded in open areas and three fell into the sea. No injuries were reported.

Rockets were also fired at Eilat in April of 2010. One landed in the sea, and one hit the Jordanian city of Aqaba.

Nonetheless, Israel placed the IDF on its highest state of alert following a situation assessment by senior commanders after Thursday's attack. The alert comes as thousands of visitors begin arriving in the resort town of Eilat for the holiday.

The move came just one week after IDF chief of staff Benny Gantz said Israel’s military would remain at full strength – but not high alert – over Passover. Gantz’s decision ended the Israeli tradition of the army “going on vacation” for Passover.

Synopsis

Egypt
A three rocket barrage upon an Israeli resort town near the Egytian border cannot be ignored. At the same time, there is little Israel can do about it for the moment. Further, we cannot ignore the fact that the Muslim Brotherhood shall rule Egypt soon and their goal is Sharia law. In fact then, radical muslims will lead the nation and Israel will again face a large, well-trained western supplied army and airforce which would be capable of a very serious threat to Israeli survival if a new war breaks out.

Passover High Alert
In the short-term Israel is going to high alert over passover, which means they expect similiar threats to develope again.

Iran
Meanwhile, Iran churns out the uranium. Agents cannot find but suspect that there are several small hidden sites where Iran is churning out highly enriched uranium. Until those sites are found, there is nothing Israel can say to get western forces to act. Meanwhile, Iran continues to spread its enrichment equipment out into numerous locations so that after any attack, Iran can again get back to work. However, do not expect an Israeli attack this weekend without some serious justification. Diplomacy must be given a chance still . . .

Syria/Hezbollah
Syria issues have not been resolved and the numerous alerts on the northenr border and the countless inspections by IDF brass and leadership indicate that there is continued serious concern that an atatck may be staged by Syria and the Hezbollah soon.

North Korea
Next week is when fireworks may be expected around the Korean Penninsula. At the sametime, North Korean subs have gone stealth and South Korea is now on a high alert for any possible commando attack or naval attack.

Lets just say for argument sake that israel takes no action and the US takes no action, we can clearly see into the crystal ball that things will get no easier for Israel, but instead will get worse. Nuclear armed and/or supported Lebanon, Hezbollah, Syria, Jordan, Egypt, and Palestinians all means one thing; terror groups will be able to continue to launch missiles and support terror against Israel, but with immunity from any attack.

All it takes is the warning that if Israel even sends one bullet over its border into a neighboring nation, Israel will be nuked. Trust me, this will happen and it will be unlike the Soviet-West cold war, the India/Pakistan cold war, or even the North Korea/South Korea cold war. Instead, Israel is so small that she cannot make even the slightest move in such a cold war without fear of nuclear retribution. All a surrounding nation needs to do is say it was not us when missiles continuously fly into Israel, but Israel do not infringe on our border or you are dead. I can go on and on, but most of you know what is meant and what will come.

thankyou for all your hard work on this thread. What is needed for the U.S. to FEEL justfied in attacking Iran is a false flag attack here in the U.S. just like 9/11 was. We even have scripture telling us it will happen. Look for a so called Al Queda attack on the U.S. probably New York again

MM, what's this news about missing nkorea nuke subs. I'm sure centcom has them tracked. You can't take a piss in the ocean without those listening posts picking it up. My guess they are surrounding Japan in prep for the missle launch, which the Japanese said they would shoot down.

Or to get real conspiratorial, making there way to a rendezvous point somewhere in the Indian ocean to give Iran some sort of part/device/mechanism to put to use towards their nuclear program. Possibly the so called "icbm they developed to reach usa mainland"

Several North Korean submarines have disappeared after departing from bases on the eastern coast.

According to reports, three or four North Korean submarines recently departed from bases on the east coast and have since remained outside South Korean surveillance.

The submarines are thought to be 370-ton shark-class vessels. The North Korean submarine used in the attack on the Cheonan in March 2010 was a 130-ton salmon-class vessel. North Korea has between 70 and 80 submarines ranging from 1,500-ton vessels to 130-ton vessels. Of the total, 80 percent are said to be based in the East Sea, where the waters are deeper than the West Sea, providing better conditions for submarine operations.

“North Korea appears to be increasing submarine infiltration exercises with the weather getting warmer. However, the possibility that drills could hide provocations has not been ruled out and related activities are being closely monitored,”


THIS has happenned before in 2010 with no incedent then. However,with tensions, there could be a plan to launch attacks with commandos dropped off from submarines. Otherwise, catch navy vessels off-guard and attack a vulenrable vessel or drop off mines.

However, I like the other option, the shipment of nuclear weapons from North Korea to Iran and the only way to rpevetn detection is via submarines meeting for the transfer. Good catch. Next thing will be another Iranian vessel headed to Syria to drop off some more weapons.

I really thought Israel had this deterrent policy, I am sure the international lawyers decided that is should be re-issued as obviously Israel's deterrent is not working. This ups the ante and reveals why Israel is prepping the northern command as well as now the southern command.

NKorea leader visits unit known for anti-US feats

North Korean leader Kim Jong Un has visited a naval unit credited with anti-US feats.

The visit comes as North Korea prepares to launch a long-range rocket later this month despite US warnings. Pyongyang says it is seeking to put a scientific satellite in orbit. Washington says the launch is a test of ballistic missile technology. The North's official media said Friday that the unit visited by leader Kim Jong Un sank the USS Baltimore during the 1950s Korean War. Outside military historians dispute that claim.

Another great President helped flourish a solid peaceful relationship with North Korea and found that a nation as friendly and peace-lovin as North Korea should get to have a peaceful nuclear program too, awww and let them have their nukes too!
