Hey guess what dude i feel better than i ever have in MY LIFE. You say this will cause cancer huh? So does smoking, staying out in the sun, etc and we all know that so that is what prevention is for smart guy. America can prevent anything it wants because we are still the #1 county in the world like it or not so love it or leave it!

No i'm not and post all the funny icons you want what i am saying is that America has prevention measures for crap like this. If the radiation leaks they have sensors that will alert the proper people who will give us warning when it gets to dangerous levels. My country will not let me or anyone other person go out from radiation because they unlike Japan actually care about it's citizens and that is the bottom line so argue all you want but it's called a FACT!

The MOX was used in reactor 3. That is why the explosion of reactor 3 was so disconcerting. The reactor was not designed for MOX fuel. It is hotter, creates greater pressures in the vessel, causes metal fatigue and requires more time to cool. Not to mention the additional radioisotopes.

The SFPs were designed to hold around 400 spent fuel assemblies. It has become common practice in all nuclear facilities to add racks to the ponds which allows them to store more assemblies. 1500 or more, as is the case in SFP 4. It takes 5 years for spent fuel from a reactor to cool enough to be transferred to dry storage casks which are then stored on site indefinitely, because there is no where else to put them.

This is the situation everywhere. These nuclear facilities are insanely dangerous to all of us.

Although the MOX supposedly was not used in any of the other reactors, the threat of plutonium contamination is still a huge factor.

During fission, plutonium is created. All of the SFPs in the world have plutonium in them. The fact that these SFPs at Fuku are exposed to the environment is very, very bad.

Nuclear technology is great when everything goes right...
And a nightmare when it doesn't.
We are currently in the middle of a really bad nightmare and no one knows when or if it will end.

You can believe the shills who say it is all blown out of proportion and there is no danger... their fear causes them to project denial.

Or, you can believe the scientific facts.

I'd rather believe the science.
