To participate at a caucus, you must be 18 years of age or older by November 6th, 2012, be a registered Republican, or be willing to re-register as a Republican at the Caucus, and reside within the precinct/township of the caucus you are attending.So to summarize... 1. You must participate in the caucus in your area and they WILL check your name on the voter registration roles. 2. If you are not a registered voter you WILL show a photo I.D and provide proof of residence. That's good to know. It seems like anyone can attend but you have to show ID to vote. That makes sense.  They won't check your I.D just to vote, but they do ask your name and then manually cross it off the voter registration list for that precinct. If your name isn't on the list you don't vote. I'm an Independent and when I called they told me if I want to register at the caucus site I must bring a photo I.D and proof of residence. And this is what the email they sent said... We will have voter registration forms available at the Caucus. You will just need to fill out a new one, check the Republican box and have proper ID showing identity and residence (a current Iowa Drivers license will work).
