Im gonna go out on a limb and predict that Ron Paul will not win. Although it will be due to a corrupt voting system,,still Romney or NEWT will get it. It will be a puppet elected to office no matter his name!

Well, I'm not so sure. The question is not whether or not Ron Paul will win, but whether or not they will be successful in cheating him. I'm not sure that they will be. It will be interesting to see how they try and whether or not they do succeed. And what happens after.

Re: IOWA CAUCUS 2012 - Paul, Romney, Santorum Neck in Neck!
the fact that ron paul is so heavily supported by a website where people tout doom and believe the sun has changed positions and that the norway spiral was a vortex of some kind make me completely weary of this man
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 1322004

Never mind who the people are who support him (or how you might judge them!)

Instead look at what he's saying. To me it looks like a return to Constitutional principles. All the others really are just variations on the current theme.

what's the timeframe for results? In how many hours may we expect them?
 Quoting: peace.be

The actual caucusing takes place between 7 and 10 pm Central, I believe. The votes and reports should start to come out then.

(3) If you need to register as a Republican or change their voter address, participants should bring a photo ID and proof of address.

[link to blackhawkgop.com]

AND...

To participate at a caucus, you must be 18 years of age or older by November 6th, 2012, be a registered Republican, or be willing to re-register as a Republican at the Caucus, and reside within the precinct/township of the caucus you are attending.

So to summarize...

1. You must participate in the caucus in your area and they WILL check your name on the voter registration roles.

2. If you are not a registered voter you WILL show a photo I.D and provide proof of residence.
 Quoting: Cheops

That's good to know. It seems like anyone can attend but you have to show ID to vote. That makes sense.

They won't check your I.D just to vote, but they do ask your name and then manually cross it off the voter registration list for that precinct. If your name isn't on the list you don't vote.

I'm an Independent and when I called they told me if I want to register at the caucus site I must bring a photo I.D and proof of residence.

And this is what the email they sent said...

We will have voter registration forms available at the Caucus. You will just need to fill out a new one, check the Republican box and have proper ID showing identity and residence (a current Iowa Drivers license will work).

If you have any other questions just let me know.

Ron Paul will win Iowa. He has the message and the ground game to get it done. The question is by how much? Will it be by enough to create more momentium to gain ground in New Hampshire and gain Palins and the Tea Party endorsement. Or will the top 3 finish in a virtual tie and steal Ron Paul's thunder so the Media can put him on super ignore. We shall see soon enough..........

They differ - quite strongly and vocally - on a key point; namely, American monetary and military aid to Israel. There is no way she would support him, at least not publicly.

WHAT TO DO IN IOWA:
1) Check that the number of people who vote does not exceed the number of
people who attend the caucus;
2) Check that the number of votes counted does not exceed the number of
people who voted;
3) Use your cell phone to capture a photo or video of the local caucus
result, as evidence. It doesn't matter what you say happened; only a photo
or video matters. Compare this with the state party's report of your local
caucus report to make sure it's the same.
4) Make sure the state party promptly provides the result of each local
caucus together with the total.
5) Check that the sum of all the local caucuses adds up to the total
reported by the state party.

It was pinned. I spent 10 karma pinning it this morning!

Then I had to spend 100 karma to circumvent a silly ban and right after that it got unpinned. Now I don't have enough to pin it again but if someone will karma pin it, we should be able to keep it pinned until the caucus is over.

"If Tyranny and Oppression come to this land, it will be in the guise of fighting a foreign enemy"- James Madison

"Joining the military does not mean that you will be defending the country. The purpose of the U.S. military should be to defend the United States. Period. Yet, one of the greatest myths ever invented is that the current U.S. military somehow defends our freedoms. First of all, our freedoms are not in danger of being taken away by foreign countries; if they are taken away it will be by our own government. It is not a country making war on us that we need to fear, it is our government making war on the Bill of Rights. And second, how is stationing troops in 150 different regions of the world on hundreds of U.S. military bases defending our freedoms? It is not the purpose of the U.S. military to change regimes, secure the borders of other countries, or spread democracy at gunpoint. The Department of Defense should first and foremost be the Department of Homeland Security."--Laurence Vance--
