recognizing a higher power that can give strength; (People empower the gov't, not the other way around)

examining past errors with the help of a sponsor (experienced member);

making amends for these errors; (Bring our troops home)

learning to live a new life with a new code of behavior;(exactly)

helping others who suffer from the same addictions or compulsions. (America can once again be seen as the land of the free)
