But it will be even better if they put together a kind of glove thing that simulated the feeling of being touched by the item through a high density grid of sensory stimulants, as its soon in avatar movie. I watched this movie on best online tv, it was great experience and was quite impressed by the movie as they soon in it. [link to www.livetvportal.com] |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 4022355 United Kingdom 01/05/2012 08:07 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | ..yeah but how?, without compressing & slowing down standing waves around a circle to create/sustain enough force to be in phase to create opposition? Another problem with holograms, is how to get rid of the black/dark areas in a lit up room or environment. I've actually seen holographic 'green' displays in mid-air in a hosptial room, showing a 3D skull or jawbone. When the doctor dimmed the lights down, it looked amazing!! |

Just Some Dude User ID: 3779821 United States 01/05/2012 08:13 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | This guy Gene Golgoff [link to en.wikipedia.org] is the one who suggested the concept of the Holodeck to Gene Roddenberry. From Wikipedia: Dolgoff also suggested to Roddenberry that all the controls on the ship should be holographic, but Roddenberry couldn't see how that could be conveyed to the viewer and didn't come to be. Also from Wikipedia here: [link to en.wikipedia.org] ...showing them many holograms and explaining his theories of “matter holograms”, the holographic nature of the universe, and the holographic nature of the human brain. Dolgoff emphasized the importance holography will play in the future and that if Gene Roddenberry wanted to be accurate he must introduce holography into his Star Trek scripts, including the concept of a holographic “room” for the crew to use for amusement, training, and other purposes. Mr. Dolgoff had won 4th prize in the IEEE student paper contest in 1968 in which he described how such a holographic “TV system” could work (in addition to describing how to use it to provide a machine capable of invisibility). Wow, this guy was spot on! If we live in a holographic universe why not just find or create the entaglements from vast distances or dimensions and use touch holographic technology to explore from a lab? No ships going into outer space needed, explore from home, like the internet only connected to the universe and alternate dimensions. (just a rambling thought in my mind) |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 7175834 Where did the hologram end and the real object come to exist? Real objects? What do you mean? A better question: If a hologram can be real enough to project a hologram, can it be real enough to project a hologram of a hologram real enough to project a third order hologoram? And how long have we been playing this game? ^^^THIS^^^ |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 7175834 Where did the hologram end and the real object come to exist? there is no such thing as an real object, because we live in a holographic universe. these scientists simply try to recreate 'nature' - that's it. |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 5841128 United States 01/05/2012 09:08 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | This is very cool and exciting technology. I read an article a month or so ago --- could not find it now, regarding this same type of technology --- but in relation to our touchscreen tablets. The buttons on our tablets (ipads or others) would soon have the feeling of being raised off the glass -- with the feeling of pushing the button. Very cool. Thanks for posting ---- It is surreal the tech zone we are entering --- makes life 100 years from now, completely unimaginable. |
