The weather in Saskatchewan is f'd up. Records are being shattered and Environment Canada is baffled. Dec/Jan has NEVER been this warm.

Manitoba as well, we have broken records all winter and are on track to break another tomorrow.

Something strange is happening with the jets streams this winter. Our frigid north winds have failed to materialize.

But I'm lovin it. Whoo hoo. I wore a spring jacket to work today, in January.

Oh, and according to one of the other threads here today.. there is a redistribution of weight on the earth’s crust, due to the glacial melt in Greenland, which is causing the earth's circumference to get bigger...
And they’ve been telling me for the last few years a larger circumference is age related.. They lied??!!! :)

There were two robins in my yard this morning when I left for work.

Same in Calgary. Tomorrow will be around 3 Celcius, but Sunday it's going to be 11 C. And really sunny!

That's unheard of this time of year!

Re: Pole Shift causing absence of winter???
It was 66 degrees in St. Louis yesterday! I didn't check the temp. today, but it felt even warmer.

It's supposed to be in the 50's and 40's for the next few days.

Usually we have had snow/ice/etc by now. So weird!! Last year it was freezing cold starting in early November.

The strangest thing is that yeah, we have warm snaps every winter...but it has been this way for WEEKS. hmmm

Well now I'm seeing threads about an incoming CME between Jan 7th and 8th.

It's evidently earth-directed.

[link to iswa.gsfc.nasa.gov:8080]

[link to www.spaceweather.com]

This would make sense, seeing as how it's been warm AND the sun is so bright and days seem longer, already.

Hmmmm.....

I have a weird feeling about this everyone!

Me too. I have never experienced a winter like this one in my 50 years on this earth. People I talk to all remark on it, though we always say that we will probably be paying for it later.

It's hard on our horses. Here they have grown all this hair and now they're hot!

Near philadelphia. Left two potted geraniums on back steps all summer and fall. Never brought them in. Four days ago they were green and one had a bloom. Admittedly scrawny but definitely not dead. I will check them again later. Maybe they are still alive.

its funny because the weatherman make no mention of this being out of the ordinary.

and any mainstream weather website makes it real hard to find out historical data.

YUP. Every weather forecast I hear - weather person says
"well isn't this nice" ??? No they should say " WTF " !!!!

We know a 90 year old lady down the road from us - lived here in Manitoba her whole life - she said " never in all my years have I sat on my deck in January " !!!! She doesn't understand what is up !

No it isn't!

I've lived in Scotland for over 50 years and we've had plenty of mild winters, even milder than this, before. Just because the last couple have been extremely cold doesn't mean they all were.

Don't make stuff up...

Has anyone had large amounts of precipitation?

THERE must be someplace on earth that is getting much more water than usual.

If It is the global water cycle that is off, THAT is impossible. The water that evaporates must come down somewhere.

Temperatures are still higher than normal here, but the winds have definitely died down.

Is anyone else still experiencing extremely windy conditions?

We had hardly any rain in December in Vancouver until the last week which is pretty unheard of for such a rainy city in it's rainiest time of year. It's been raining really hard for the last 2 weeks now though.

Re: Pole Shift causing absence of winter???
The Peg is normally the coldest city in the world, this winter has been the wimpiest ever.

Spring jackets throughout December and January, not normal.
Saw a convertible with the top down on Thursday, and the mailman is back to wearing his shorts, lol.

The normal jet stream flow is not happening.

The Canada Goose has yet to see the light of day this winter, this morning when I shoveled the meager bit of snow that did fall last night, I only wore a fleece.

Normally they go into great detail about weather patterns and on they are effecting us, but this year, not so much.

This winter will be one for the history books.
