Senate is having "Pro-forma sessions" so technically they are not in recess...and this has been respected before by presidents, but Obama defied the Senate. So there may be a challenge to the appointment which of course will result in just more bullshit out of DC...

The reason for doing all this crap is that the Republican Senators demanded 3 changes as to how this brand new agency with broad sweeping un-accountable to anyone powers is more or less funded and that it would be subject to at least some congressional oversight which now it essentially has none.

This new agency is part of the federal reserve and buried in it's budget and there is no board...the director has complete control and it's funding cannot be touched by congress...being part of the fed essentially puts it out of control of even the president.

They also have far reaching broad and vague power to punish unfair, deceptive and abusive business practices and while some of those are defined, most are not and they can pretty make up whatever they want and call it abusive. This new agency has also been expanded to oversee Student loans, payday loans and more or less whatever they feel like.

Cordray is a long time Democrat party hack lawyer, but honestly he could be worse...it's not about him, it's about the new agency and their zero oversight, zero accountability to congress and far reaching overly broad and vague power that transcends at least half a dozen current agencies and was spawned out the Dodd-Frank act which was supposed to be about the past financial crisis but that the Obama has used to create yet another whole new agency that answers to no one and has untouchable power.

It more or less creates a "Consumer Protection Czar" with power to punish just about anyone for anything they deem as "Abusive"...which as you might assume...could mean anything they feel like making it about.

Frankly I'd be more concerned about this than that indefinite detention over reacted to bullshit in the NDAA...because THAT is so radioactive and has so many avenues to pursue a defense against in the constitution that the only place any American citizen is going be detained indefinitely without due process is a bunch of woowoo's minds...this however?...these guys can run roughshod through and over pretty much anything they feel like "Punishing" whomever as they see fit and there isn't anything congress or virtually anyone else can do about it.

Rep Senators wrote a letter demanding 3 things to give this agency some accountability months ago and said then they'd green light the appointments if these measures were put into place, but Obama said fuck you, you get nothing and decided to do this circumvent the Senate approval instead...

Now all we have to do is beseech Heaven that the R's don't present us with a Milquetoast like they did last time...

We need to see a bulldog, someone who isn't bothered by being called names like second-graders fighting on the playground. It's a badly-kept "secret" that the race card is going to be played often and loudly. Be prepared and don't allow them to blindside you. This candidate will need to be willing to get down and dirty, to call Obama on his EVERY failing, personal as well as Presidential.

At the same time, the candidate will need to provide CONCRETE strategies about the economy, and our dealings with foreign countries. People want to see A PLAN! We already KNOW that it's going to be a long, hard climb out of this. We're not stupid. But if we can SEE the "light at the end of the tunnel", if we can be SHOWN EXACTLY HOW we can restore our country, we will back this candidate 100%.

And regardless of ridicule from the D's, the candidate REALLY needs to highlight the Constitution, and how it has been violated and emasculated. Since O supposedly specialized in Constitutional law, he certainly cannot claim that he didn't know that so many of his actions have been unConstitutional. Provide us with examples of how you would guide and restore the country back toward its original Constitutional principles.

Admit that the R's have been guilty too - again, we are not stupid. Admit the mistakes, apologize, and prove to us how you will be vigilant against it happening any more.

I really hope that SOMEONE will read this and please pass it along to whichever candidate is eventually nominated. I don't believe that I am the only citizen who feels this way.
