Is sirius supposed to be brighter than Jupiter, or is it just that it appeared that way on the horizon?
Quoting: Conspiracynut1 Jupiter varies in it's brightness based on several factors. All planets appear brighter/larger when they are closer to the Earth. Jupiter ranges from a faint orangish spot to a thick orange sphere depending. Right now it is a little larger than average I would say.
