This is a good point:

Checking ID at SS office (by: west1890 - 1/5/2012)

OK, why is it ok to check ID's at a Social Security office but AG Holder says it's racist to require an ID to vote?

The TSA Agent has 2 Weapons systems, a pistol & Automatic rifle.

What Scenario are they training for?

Somebody to Force their way into SS Office at Gun Point and demand Benefits?

 Quoting: ***DRAGOON***

Seems to me that it is more a deterant for people to turn up at the SS to make claims .

That way they get the offical unemploymennt numbers down and can then boast how well they are fixing the economy and you had better vote for us .

They're calling it "operation shield," and it's a "show of force" by Federal Protective Service officers (Homeland Security), but this time, they're at the Social Security Administration building in downtown Leesburg (Florida).

These are to be "routine, unannounced visits" done by Federales who'll be double-checking the effectiveness of private security firms at federal buildings.

And the most disturbing quote from this article is that one Homeland official said they were there to look for "unauthorized persons and potentially disruptive" activities.

So, all of you who said we had to stop flying to avoid the TSA's egregious violations of our fourth-amendment rights, I guess we'd better advise the senior citizens to stop visiting their social security offices if they don't like being searched.

Are YOUR papers in order???

"Papers please!"

Not flying won't stop the march of tyranny. Quite the contrary, it's what tyranny wants - to make you stay in your kennel.

Not flying as a means to stop tyranny is what's called "cutting off your nose to spite your face."

At least we still have one right left. To go broke and starve to death.

Although it might be funny to go down and watch some of the idiots in those Social Security office trying to get Social Security Disability.

They go hobbling in those offices like they are crippled beyond repair, total fakes. Get a Homeland Security team in there looking for ID's and find a bunch of felons and watch how quickly they can scurry the hell out of there.

SS offices have had armed security for some time. Almost any government office does now. I had 2 go through security for jury duty. "I the Government" does not trust "we the people".

But, hey, everyone just keep voting the status quo.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 8284181

I hate to be a pessimist, but I am afraid that even our voting system might be compromised now.
I really don't trust computerized voting. It should always be mechanical, with some form of paper to verify the vote.
Computers can be manipulated too easily.

Here's the test.
If Obama gets elected again we know the voting is rigged. Even the leaders of his own party don't care much for him.

Ha! Noob... You think voting matters? Neocons gave you TSA, Patriot Act, Homeland Security, torture, secret prisons...

Oooooh... But here comes a Savior! Hope! Change! ***** Bzzzzzzz ******* try again grasshopper. Patriot act renewal, more wars, expanded random searches and now NDAA.

You think Romney (who WILL BE the nominee rammed through over everybody's objection if it need be) will change anything? It's a choice between white empty suit and black empty suit. Doesn't matter who wins, we ALL lose.

Re: The TSA and their ilk: Now at a Social Security office near you! And this time, they're ARMED!
I went into the SS office today and was surprised. There were two armed guards. The first one curtly demands that you empty your pockets. The second one stands back, hand on gun. Every time someone walks in the same thing. It is terrifying to be confronted by a man holding a gun while the other orders you to empty your pockets and go through scanning.

I wanted to turn around and leave but was scared by the guy with hand on gun and the arrogant tone of voice, afraid that if I turned around and left that they would shoot me.

Sitting there waiting my turn I noticed a clerk. He looked bored and irritated. He was curt and rude to the customer at the window.

How much does it cost to pay two guards to stand there? It does not matter because whatever it costs they will collect the money in taxes at gun point if deemed.

It appeared that these guys are sort of useless, in terms of protecting the office. It seems more like a show of force, a shakedown, to intimidate the population.

Perhaps this is the beginning of the "normalization" phase.
