BUT, there is a most amazing experience awaiting us on the other end of the finish-line. The idea being, once we can handle it all down here, then we can live and explore eternally, responsibly, because we know what not to do, and not be resentful about being responsible, so we don't start a polarity domino effect in the other realms of existence." "The Fraction" of Life can be increased in value not so much by increasing your Numerator as by lessening your Denominator. Nay, unless my Algebra deceive me, Unity itself divided by Zero will give Infinity." |

If it did the energy released would melt the entire crust, destroying all life. The magnetic poles do flip, and have done many times in the past. Some data hints that we might be heading towards another one, but it could be any time in the next 10,000 years, so probably not too much to worry about. There's also no evidence of any adverse effects during a magnetic flip. No mass extinctions, and no major changes in climate. The last few were within the time when our ancestors were roaming the planet, and they survived it OK, so I have no doubt we'll be fine as well... |

We also would be unaware of the sun's cycle during the last flip, and anything that might happen when cme's and such breech the magnetosphere as it's flipping. Also, where do you get that flipping the earth physically would release a ton of energy? It would require a lot of energy, but I'm unaware of what would make it physically release energy. |
