Is 33 degrees the cap, or are there actually higher degrees of 34 and beyond that some may attain?

By the way, how did you get to be 33 degrees? Did you work your way up from 1°, or were you sort of born into it?

And I am curious, can anyone without any Masonic connection join an order and one day attain 33°, or is that essentially impossible?
