The interview was recorded with a CCD camera or film stock.

CCD was not a common camera in 1980. CCD became mainstream in the early 80's, but was very low res.

I would have expected an "imaging tube" camera to be used for this interview.

Notice the white reflections on the speakers eyeglasses.... If this were recorded on an imaging tube camera ... the reflections would have left "trails".

A good camera operator of this vintage would have used an umbrella to shade any "hot spots".

I say it's fake.

Too bad, it would have been an awesome hoax. I guess next time use an imaging tube camera.

It's also got combing so it was defiantly edited on a Computer by an Amature and probably using Mini DV

People, please here. We had movie cameras during tape of very good resolution in color when I was a little kid. I was born in 1947.

The lighting seen in the guys glasses reflection indicates it was filmed in the 80's. Modern filming in a small room, due to advanced digital tech, requires much less light.

It also appears the film was transferred to a digital format that is greater in resolution. It is evident when the man moves rapidly, like his hand.

And I think I saw a watch, which people typically don't use anymore in lue of cell phones.




Plus, can't find anything this guy is selling. Most fakes are in it for the money. We shall see.

Either it is legit from the 1980s...


Or it is professionally done (setting, wardrobe, lighting, etc) to look like original 1980s footage, for the purpose of a (new) movie or a TV show, or something like that.

My grandparents are french, let me say that the body language this mans demonstrates is very, very, french. You cannot "fake" that kind of body language.

Other nations have adopted different television signal and display standards over the years. As it turns out, France had one of the best standards up until 1984 when they switched from a 819 line resolution to a Europe-wide 625 lines resolution.

BTW, up until this last decade, the United States had one of the lowest resolution TV signals with only 525 lines.

I always thought that German TV looked better back then because they did have more lines of resolution.

The tube cameras I used, used shutters and did not have trails left by bright images.

Sorry, but there is no way this was done on CCD.
It would have been a one or three tube professional camera.
I have used these cameras many times and they do not trial lights. Amatuer camers did, but the professional cameras did not.

Who is to say that this video wasn't shot with French cameras in the US for French TV. He and the interviewer are both speaking French and without an interpreter. It must be intended for the French.
