One of my friends did a month and a half instead of paying the fine. I found out after he was finished. He should have asked for a little help instead.
We opened doors by thinking.

It sucked ass. I'm not going into details but I made a mistake and I'm paying the price. I was sentenced to 4 days of which I can pick and choose when/how I serve them. I did the first two this weekend.

Let me tell you, that was the longest weekend of my life. You have no sense of night and day, no clock, they leave the lights on 24/7 so you don't know what time of day it is. The mattresses are these pads that are about an inch and a half thick on a solid steel base. They provide next to no support. No pillow at all. After two days, the smell of the same TV dinner made me want to vomit.

No out time whatsoever; 48 straight hours in a little cell with 2 other guys. Pretty damned good deterrent. I still have to serve two more days.

Not looking for sympathy, just saying, you don't want to go there...

respect to your friend, if more of us did the same they would be forced to incarcerate less people, it simply costs too much.

the reason OP had such a 'hard time' is because of the shortness of his stay. strangely, the longer your sentence, the more you mentally cope with it. analogy: i take you to a bar, tell you we are only staying 5 minutes and your mind is already on 'the next place', you know you dont have time to adjust.

it's really just a microcosm of society, like hangs with like and the shit still attracts flies.
