The more I think about it, the more the lack of shock among the witnesses makes sense. I'm not saying that this isn't an assassination, just to be to clear. What I am saying is that is likely that the reporters are not in on it.

When the reporters are looking at the body, they seem to be having an emotional response similar to as if they were watching something on TV. There is not much of a tendency to look away. Their facial expressions do not match that of let's say a normally functioning person (a human being in their natural setting - IE not in cubicle and in front of a TV). I think it is more likely, that they are desensitized from all the violence they encounter on the job and during their regular lives while watching their favorite action, horror movies filled with blood and gore and anything you can imagine.
