What are the mathematical odds behind the Tebow "316" numbers?

I treated this as a number series problem. Used the most significant digit as something needing to be bounded within limits. For example, Tebow can't throw for 999 yards. So the probability that he could through for 316 is more like 1 in 500.

So the odds are approximate. They a give some mental scope to an event to sort our accidents from significant incidents. Not that accidents are not significant. Sure I made a mistake or two. The point was to sense wether this kind of thing has meaning.

If you want a way to test the probability of Tebow choosing John 3:16 why not take each bible verse number from Genesis 1:1 to Revelation 22:21. See how many different number combinations come up, how often the following 316 arise, add in whatever other factors you want. Doesn't matter, because in the end it could be calculated and people wouldn't be able to deny the odds.

What is important is that yes God does care about football, in that he through Tebow and through this sport He has reached thousands of people. God's will for all Christians is for us to boldly proclaim HIS name in all we do. Eph 6:19-20 We need Christians in ALL areas to reach ALL people. God is using Tebow in football and again thousands of people are now talking, considering, debating, THINKING ABOUT GOD.

God asks you to give your life to HIM. It is pointless for both Christians and non-Christians to question why He does 'this' and doesn't do 'this' (i.e. heal all children in a hospital, or appear in the center of the stadium). God owes us nothing and I am incredibly grateful that He has provided me with the opportunity to experience eternal life with Him in Heaven-- something I and everyone else is so unworthy of having. He is gracious, loving, and demands that we give Him our earthly lives. What is that in exchange for eternal happiness?
