I heard a strange humming sound this morning at 6:50, in Chicago.
I was getting ready and heard it, it made a sound like...whew-whew-whew-whew-whew-whew-whew, right above the house.
When i moved out of the room i didn't hear it, but when i went back in i heard it.
There is nothing else in that room but clothes.
I imagined that that's what an alien craft would sound like.
What if they're testing out sounds for the fake invasion?
What could these hums be?

It seemed to be coming from outside on the other side of my laundry room, but when I got up to check it out it stopped. The furnace wasn't going and my washer and dryer were off, too, so I have absolutely no idea what it was. ok, story time. My two aunts seem to hear weird humming sounds as well outside their homes. Both of them hear the sounds while their significant others are sleeping, and the scary part for them is that when they investigate the sound, like you did, it stopped. My Aunt's friend also heard a weird humming outside her window, and when she got near the window to look outside it stopped! It stopped as she was walking to the window, as if "it" knew the whole time. These accounts happened while the lights were off, just as mine happened today, the light was off. Was your light off? I'm pretty sure all the lights were off because it was the middle of the afternoon, but I'm not 100% sure. The only fluorescent light fixture (the tube kind that's most likely to make noises) in the house is in the kitchen, but the sound wasn't coming from that direction and it's very unlikely it would have been on during the day anyway. I'd been sitting down at my computer, but as soon as I stood up it stopped. I've never heard a sound like it outside the movies... testing sounds for fake alien invasion, perhaps? The sounds are real, and they're a mystery...but, it's freaky when the sound stops once you become aware of it. Didn't happen to me, i had to rush to get outta the house so i couldn't investigate. But i looked up at the sky as i left and i didn't see a thing, and i couldn't hear anything while i was outside either, mostly because of the car and wind and stuff like that.
