Recently tried Ayahuasca for the first time, here is my story

Percy Garcia is a popular and respected curandero. I have had several ceremonies with him, (seven years ago)the strength of his ayahuasca, although not the strongest I've had, was certainly sufficient at that time. I am speaking from experience as I've used Aya on and off for around ten years, as well as being with other curanderos in Peru I have made the brew my self many times.

Can all those experienced with it recommend a link to a recipe that's considered to be a (true) light dose?

I'm a lightweight with all stimulants.

Peru has always been calling...:-) Any Shaman there worth recommending?

That is what they want you to believe because of the money involved.

Anyone who says you need someone in between you and the divine is a charlatan and a fraud or just totally ignorant. See religions.

I have done DMT, including as ayahuasca brews over 200 times. Alone.

And when you start using words like sacred, holy, blahblah, it shows you need a lot to learn. Those are dogma words to control and manipulate.

Also, if you 'see' or 'experience' people you know in your trips or events in this human life and connect the things you see with that, it means you are too much involved with your ego, the human, which means nothing in the bigger picture.

It is important to do some research into Ayahuasca before going down its path, it's not for everyone, some people especially should not use it due to interactions with other drugs which they may be taking.
IMO a Shaman is not necessary, however the presence of an experienced curandero certainly adds another dimension, and is well worth the experience.
Also keeping Ayahuasca in the realms of a sacrament or an Indigenous medicine is important, it is the only way it will be tolerated by the draconian authorities we face today.(although it is banned in some countries)

and of course youve also done it with a shaman so you know the difference, correct?

fyi ive done dmt quite a bit by myself and am still here -- but wouldnt discount that a shaman could greatly aid or guide the journey. infact im convinced they could, seeing as how my dmt experiences in the presence of others are vastly different than those alone.

Most will probably dismiss this, but the difference between DMT and Ayahuasca is that with Ayahuasca you are dealing with a powerful plant spirit / teacher (Ayahuasca means spirit vine) and an experienced shaman know how to interact with this.
DMT on the other hand just opens the door, wide and fast.:))

Who is the shamna you were working with? Do you have any contact info for us, if we wonted to go to a ceremony?

Unfortunately, I can't divulge that information. It's pretty underground and you need to be invited. They say that the medicine will find you when you are ready. My advice, if you're serious and really want to try this, is to put the intention out there, start reading about the medicine and watching documentaries. Seek out forums on the web and the grandmother will find you. Good luck.

Okay. From the simple tone of your post, I'm guessing you haven't done it with a Shaman. You display very little love or compassion, that's a big part of what this medicine is about. If you read my blog, you'll see that I confronted the ego on my 3rd night. It's a journey, my friend. I've drank it 3 times, you've had it 200 times. Good for you, it's not a contest. Blessings to you on your path. Hopefully one day you'll learn that everyone's path is different and maybe think about trying to avoid knocking others off of theirs. With respect.

Thanks for the answer but, Im set. Cuz grandma was someone my father used to take me to see, but this grandmother who hides in bushes and whispering in a hushed voice to random people maybe shes your weird ass relative.

The one whos done it 200 times sound like he has less ego than you op and i checked and they want mad money. Who sells spirituality for money? I've done it too btw. But it's actually not that hardcore. I was just interested in doing it with guidance but what-ev.

I was worried about that as well. When I vomit, it's really violent. But it's pretty minor and becomes an afterthought in the entire experience.

My ceremonies were 200 bucks a night. Worth every penny and then some. If you're not willing to spend 200 bucks a night to explore yourself then what's the use of money anyways? I would have spent THOUSANDS in therapy.

Not everybody has 200 dollars so it's this spirituality for money thing.
Or spirituality from a substance thing.
Spirituality from someones dick thing.

In this money ruled world people can't give their time for nothing or they will end up not being able to give nothing at all. So I think it's fine they charge their fees. 200 bucks is not excesive IMO.

Maybe he was a good curandero 7 years ago, but 3 years ago his assistant told me that they did not make the brew too strong, because they did not want people "rolling around".

Stayed for 3 sessions, and not one of the 6 people who did it with me reported and visions whatsoever.

It was just like a strong mushroom trip. If anyone is going to iquitos looking for a real, genuine aya trip, take my advice and don't go with percy, it ain't the real deal.

I think money has corrupted percy

That was amazing, OP. Beautifully written. Thanks for sharing (and a shout out to a fellow Burner) ... but like others I'm a little perturbed about the money thing. I'm pretty poor right now. $600 would be most of what I earn in a month and more than my rent. I don't have any objection to shamans charging those who can pay... but will they still work with those who can't, if they're sincere?

I'm going to ask Grandmother Aya to come into my life. I've been pondering this for a while, and I think I really need Her. I guess I just have to trust that She will come to me regardless of my money situation, when I'm ready.
