Looks-like the story is being covered locally in North Carolina, and the UK, but aside-from vague references to this, mainly as a side-dish to litanys-of-well-known-US-medical-crimes like, Tuskegee, HeLa, vaccination experiments on humans, (on-going), and radioactive milk to name a few, this has not received much national notice.
