Serious question about RF in the air where I work,,,
With everything going on about cancer with cell phone use and whatnot,,,

I decided to ask here ( and I KNOW I will get flamed)

So here goes,,,

I work in a datacenter,,, approx 21,000Sq feet in area

My office is on the floor which means I am surrounded by a half dozen mainframes another 20 DASDI and literally hundreds of servers, routers, switches etc.

Should I be concerned with RF harming me or my mates here?

Is there a "device" that can be worn then read to determine the exposure levels?

What are the "limits" on exposure? If any.

I serious people,,, we are kinda freaked out at the moment over it. And I couldn't really find any regs on RF exposure.

Thanks

Each time a person stands for an ideal, or acts to improve the lot of others, or strikes out against injustice, he or she sends forth a tiny ripple of hope. And crossing each other from a million different centers of energy and daring, those ripples build a current that can sweep down the mightiest walls of oppression and resistance. Few are willing to embrace the disapproval of their fellows, the censure of their colleagues, the wrath of their society. Moral courage is a rarer commodity than bravery in battle or great intelligence. Yet it is the one essential vital quality for those who seek to change a world that yields most painfully to change. Can be cited under the general duty clause w/ANSI standard. Call an OSHA office for more details. If you really are concerned ask your employer if the have done a RF survey, if not you could file an OSHA complaint and they will do one (depending on who you work for there may be back lash).

I'm not so sure that they work, as I've never owned one, but there are devices that claim personal electromagnetic shielding properties, e.g
'Q-link', schumann, and Tesla devices; just a quick look found these- [link to www.sheerprevention.co.uk] [link to mini.qlinkproducts.com] [link to www.lifetechnology.org]

I would just ask them,,, no backlash,, I work for a pretty good company..I think they would do it just for their own knowledge.

At the worst they would just move us off of the "floor" and into another part of the building I think.

But then we would have to literally run at times if there would happen to be a serious issue on the floor.
