I would assume they're just trying to hide what they're doing. They've become so noticeable during the day, and so many people are commenting that they're just trying to cover it up more. My husband is a sheep .. by choice .. he doesn't want to hear it .. doesn't care, there is nothing we can do .. .. he owns a pool store and business (so he is outdoors 7-7 .. well by the end of last year (season) .. he brought it up on his own.. he said .. you are right, by mid afternoon there is always a haze over the sun .. always .. .. and oddly last year was the first maybe second year he didn't get totally dark skinned or burned .. This seems to be the case here as well. A lot of night spraying and specifically a ton in the morning, which to me seems to be an effort to cover the sunrise, much like was stated in my OP...
