lol, babies look like little fetus creatures you'd half expect to find crawling up your leg with a knife in it's teeth, animals are waaaay cuter. and they possibly taste better.

Props on the hatchlings ZOD, i used to own an australian water dragon named spyro, (captive bred here in cali) he was so cool. so much personality and flare, got big as hell too. he'd flex on people, no fear at all. broke my fukkin heart when he died.

It was the Mum's first clutch, only three eggs, and two of those were infertile. The poor little guy it truly an only child. He's still scared of his food at this point, hope to get him to start eating soon.

Eastern Water Dragons can get fairly big and bulky, I've got one about a quarter grown. Plenty of personality in that guy too, still a bit flighty though. Sorry you lost your guy, was he old, they can reach about 20yrs of age?

no, thats the worst part, i left him outside in a big bird cage on like a 75 degree day and he was dead within 20 minutes, not enough shade and he knocked over his water so he couldn't cool down. he was pretty much full grown, like 3-4 years old. cherry red chest. he was awesome. i still visit his grave when i get really drunk.

Ouch, I feel for both of you, what a horrible feeling you must have had upon discovering what had happened. It's a difficult way to learn, but I assure you, you'll never forget.

I am sad you hunted them. On one side of my family --- everyone is a hunter. EVERYONE. When I was little (8 or 9) we were boating on Lake Powell for few weeks and my uncle (who was like 15) took off with his bb gun and shot a rabbit and brought it back to the boat! Hell it could have been a jackrabbit for all I know. He came running through the tall canyon wall down the beach with that bunny --- I was screaming like a horror movie and he was laughing and swinging that poor dead bunny.

I stayed in the cabin that night mad at my entire family who was on shore having steak and RABBIT for dinner.

Rabbit is pretty good. Not my first choice but still tastey.

I prefer it smothered (gravy) in a blackpot with peppers and onions.

Where did you think food came from? My middle son called me from home one summer break while I was at work and said he shot the rabbit, with his bow and arrow, that was eating our garden up...so I drove home, not even a mile, and showed him how to take it's clothes off and soak it in salt water for a great crock pot meal the next day...

hmmm I do eat meat, but not rabbit. I cannot do it. sawly chawlie!
