Department of Homeland Security is not only watching GLP but saving personally identifiable information, they admit in the actual report!
I'm sure most of you saw the news yesterday regarding this:

Homeland Security watches Twitter, social media

A DHS official familiar with the monitoring program said that it was intended purely to enable command center officials to keep in touch with various Internet-era media so that they were aware of major, developing events to which the Department or its agencies might have to respond.

[link to ca.news.yahoo.com]

So I found the actual 5 page report, and there are some even MORE disturbing things in it than what they put in the news article, because not only will they retain the information itself, but they will seek out and save personally identifiable information about the person posting it!!

The DHS Privacy Office (PRIV) and OPS/NOC decided to further broaden the program’s capability to collect additional information, including limited instances of personally identifiable information (PII).

Collection of Information

...

5) names of anchors, newscasters, or on-scene reporters who are known or identified as reporters in their post or article or who use traditional and/or social media in real time to keep their audience situationally aware and informed;

...

7) terrorists, drug cartel leaders, or other persons known to have been involved in major crimes of Homeland Security interest.

Now, I guess people posting on GLP could possibly be considered reporters, but it seems like number 7 would be more likely because remember, you could be considered a potential terrorist or threat to DHS because of these things, from one of my other posts:

"Rightwing extremist chatter on the Internet continues to focus on the economy, the perceived loss of U.S. jobs in the manufacturing and construction sectors, and home foreclosures. Anti-Semitic extremists attribute these losses to a deliberate conspiracy conducted by a cabal of Jewish “financial elites.” These “accusatory” tactics are employed to draw new recruits into rightwing extremist groups and further radicalize those already subscribing to extremist beliefs. DHS/I&A assesses this trend is likely to accelerate if the economy is perceived to worsen.

If you dislike the Administration's policy on immigration, you're included too...

(U//FOUO) DHS/I&A assesses that rightwing extremist groups’ frustration over a perceived lack of government action on illegal immigration has the potential to incite individuals or small groups toward violence. If such violence were to occur, it likely would be isolated, small-scale, and directed at specific immigration-related targets.

If you are pro-gun, you are included:

(U//FOUO) Open source reporting of wartime ammunition shortages has likely spurred rightwing extremists—as well as law-abiding Americans—to make bulk purchases of ammunition. These shortages have increased the cost of ammunition, further exacerbating rightwing extremist paranoia and leading to further stockpiling activity. Both rightwing extremists and law-abiding citizens share a belief that rising crime rates attributed to a slumping economy make the purchase of legitimate firearms a wise move at this time.

(U//FOUO) Weapons rights and gun-control legislation are likely to be hotly contested subjects of political debate in light of the 2008 Supreme Court’s decision in District of Columbia v. Heller in which the Court reaffirmed an individual’s right to keep and bear arms under the Second Amendment to the U.S. Constitution, but left open to debate the precise contours of that right. Because debates over constitutional rights are intense, and parties on all sides have deeply held, sincere, but vastly divergent beliefs, violent extremists may attempt to co-opt the debate and use the controversy as a radicalization tool.

If you are a VETERAN!!!

(U) Disgruntled Military Veterans
(U//FOUO) DHS/I&A assesses that rightwing extremists will attempt to recruit and radicalize returning veterans in order to exploit their skills and knowledge derived from military training and combat.

Those that think there is an NWO type conspiracy, of even if you just feel that the US will no longer be a super power in the world:

Perceived Threat from Rise of Other Countries
(U//FOUO) Rightwing extremist paranoia of foreign regimes could escalate or be magnified in the event of an economic crisis or military confrontation, harkening back to the “New World Order” conspiracy theories of the 1990s. The dissolution of Communist countries in Eastern Europe and the end of the Soviet Union in the 1990s led some rightwing extremists to believe that a “New World Order” would bring about a world government that would usurp the sovereignty of the United States and its Constitution, thus infringing upon their liberty.

This is the report:

United States Army Information System Command headquarters visiting my pro-family blog?

By Julio Severo

The Department of Homeland Security. The Human Rights Campaign. The USAISC headquarters. These were some of my strange visitors in the last six months.

On July 27 and 29, 2011, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) appeared in my tracking report visiting my English blog.

Yes, this is a given, however they are not only monitoring it but admitting to saving the information identifying people who post. It's bad enough to just "save" websites and archive them, but then to save the information of the people posting it, like email addresses, IPs, whatever else is used to finger a person online, it's even worse.

With the advent of 911 and the Patriot Act, all these surveillance methods were given the legal green light to be done. Your IP, cell phone records, emails etc can easily go into a web folder that is algorithmly monitored and filed based on what you do or say.

Since the U.S. government invented and owns the internet, of course they will do as they see fit to complete the great work and also make sure any threats are taken out or monitored for judgement day.

This is a sure sign of paranoia on the Administration and Departments behalf. Funny, I think they are the ones we should be worried about with the, "everyone is out to get me attitude."

Collection of Information

...

5) names of anchors, newscasters, or on-scene reporters who are known or identified as reporters in their post or article or who use traditional and/or social media in real time to keep their audience situationally aware and informed;

...Because if you know who is screwing you financially, you should not stand up to them and definately should not post real facts for readers to read and come to their own conclusions. Critical thinking and an independent mind are criminal behavior now.

7) terrorists, drug cartel leaders, or other persons known to have been involved in major crimes of Homeland Security interest.

And of course these crimes are of major interest to DHS, they, along with the F.B.I., have been facilitating, financing these terrorists and drug cartel leaders. How many patsi's are they up to now, who supposedly tried to commit a terrorist act against this country?

Now, I guess people posting on GLP could possibly be considered reporters, but it seems like number 7 would be more likely because remember, you could be considered a potential terrorist or threat to DHS because of these things, from one of my other posts:

Hence a lot of the trolls you see on this website and others, inciting violence and trying to stir the pot.

What I get out of this paragraph is, if you even talk bad about the economic situation, you are a terrorist. So now if you have all your money drained out of your savings, 401K, market accounts, etc. you just need to sit and deal with it because it is ok for that type of stuff to happen to you.

Once again a terrorist for speaking out against immigration; I feel the situation is very complicated, but I to know the laws have been in place just not enforced. Those who swore to uphold these laws have lied and done nothing besides gather a fat paycheck and label all others as "potential terrorists".

It is always better to solve things in a peaceful manner, but have a gun just incase things go south and for your ultimate protection. What I find funny is DHS and other so called "Federal Government" officials carry and 9 out of 10 own their own firearm. I guess this would put them right on the "potential terrorist" list as well.

If you are a VETERAN!!!

(U) Disgruntled Military Veterans
(U//FOUO) DHS/I&A assesses that rightwing extremists will attempt to recruit and radicalize returning veterans in order to exploit their skills and knowledge derived from military training and combat.

I served two tours, one in Iraq, the other in Qatar, now I am considered a terrorist by the same people who sent me off to "fight". Here again is another example of pure paranoia on their part and one that, in MO should constitute some sort of psychological help and definately heavy medication for all DHS Officials.

Those that think there is an NWO type conspiracy, of even if you just feel that the US will no longer be a super power in the world:

LOL, I love this one, it is fact not conspiracy. Obviously these people have no idea what the definition of conspiracy is and what it is for fact. All evidence is contained in many documents from the Federal Government, UN, elite talking heads who have even called for a New World Order. I guess the elites who have openly written about this being a reality and openly spoke of creating a NWO are conspiracy theorists and potential terrorists for even holding such "conspiracies" to become reality.

Perceived Threat from Rise of Other Countries
(U//FOUO) Rightwing extremist paranoia of foreign regimes could escalate or be magnified in the event of an economic crisis or military confrontation, harkening back to the “New World Order” conspiracy theories of the 1990s. Sorry for so much, but this is just completely crazy now days. DHS has definately shown themselves to be paranoid beyond belief and obviously are a great threat to anyone who knows exactly what is going on. It still breaks my heart to see how bad this country has become and to have agencies such as the DHS spouting this type of garbage is embarrassing.

Keep the information coming, I really feel we all must band together and start monitoring them on a daily basis and collecting as much intel as possible.
"If Tyranny and Oppression come to this land, it will be in the guise of fighting a foreign enemy"- James Madison

"Joining the military does not mean that you will be defending the country. The purpose of the U.S. military should be to defend the United States. Period. Yet, one of the greatest myths ever invented is that the current U.S. military somehow defends our freedoms. First of all, our freedoms are not in danger of being taken away by foreign countries; if they are taken away it will be by our own government. It is not a country making war on us that we need to fear, it is our government making war on the Bill of Rights. And second, how is stationing troops in 150 different regions of the world on hundreds of U.S. military bases defending our freedoms? It is not the purpose of the U.S. military to change regimes, secure the borders of other countries, or spread democracy at gunpoint. The Department of Defense should first and foremost be the Department of Homeland Security."--Laurence Vance--

It's scary and sad :( It's to the point where, as crazy as it sounds, I sort of worry about posting stuff. You would think freedom of speech is a good thing but it's getting to be that some things you say are considered "okay" but if you say other things, you are then watched. I guess everyone should give a big wave to DHS since I'm sure they are watching this thread in particular.

What is conspiracy? It is the search for truth.
We communicate on GLP and other blogs about the direction and
purpose of our Government, among other interesting topics.
Why do we do this? We have a craving to know, learn, and question what does not seem right. Our Founding Fathers wrote a brilliant document in the Constitution and Bill of Rights.
They allowed us free speech and no oppression from free speech that was given to us by our Creator not the Government. Our Creator could be of any faith we believed and

This attempt is very close to being successful. The pieces
are set in place for the complete control of the citizens
of this Nation.
All aspects of our Government have been working for this control with the passing of laws limiting and suppressing, "We the People". It easily to see that "The Government" is the only thing that is important.

What I get out of this paragraph is, if you even talk bad about the economic situation, you are a terrorist. So now if you have all your money drained out of your savings, 401K, market accounts, etc. you just need to sit and deal with it because it is ok for that type of stuff to happen to you.

Once again a terrorist for speaking out against immigration; I feel the situation is very complicated, but I to know the laws have been in place just not enforced. Those who swore to uphold these laws have lied and done nothing besides gather a fat paycheck and label all others as "potential terrorists".

The dissolution of Communist countries in Eastern Europe and the end of the Soviet Union in the 1990s led some rightwing extremists to believe that a “New World Order” would bring about a world government that would usurp the sovereignty of the United States and its Constitution, thus infringing upon their liberty.

If you are any of these things, you are considered a potential terrorist and right-wing extremist.

BTW preppers, you're included too...

Potential terrorist activities from DHS includes buying Meals Ready to Eat - [link to image.patriotpost.us]

And guess what, anyone interested in paying with $$ versus using credit cards? Hey, you're in there as well!

Insisting on paying with cash makes you a potential terrorist!"

Oh yeah? What are you going to do with all this intel? Make a youtube video?

Re: Department of Homeland Security is not only watching GLP but saving personally identifiable information, they admit in the actual report!
I'm sure most of you saw the news yesterday regarding this:

Homeland Security watches Twitter, social media

[link to ca.news.yahoo.com]

So I found the actual 5 page report, and there are some even MORE disturbing things in it than what they put in the news article, because not only will they retain the information itself, but they will seek out and save personally identifiable information about the person posting it!!

The DHS Privacy Office (PRIV) and OPS/NOC decided to further broaden the program’s capability to collect additional information, including limited instances of personally identifiable information (PII).

This is a sure sign of paranoia on the Administration and Departments behalf. Funny, I think they are the ones we should be worried about with the, "everyone is out to get me attitude."

Collection of Information

...

5) names of anchors, newscasters, or on-scene reporters who are known or identified as reporters in their post or article or who use traditional and/or social media in real time to keep their audience situationally aware and informed;

...Because if you know who is screwing you financially, you should not stand up to them and definately should not post real facts for readers to read and come to their own conclusions.
