PNW warming more rapidly than anywhere on Earth!
from the October 27, 2005 edition - [link to www.csmonitor.com]

A rapid warm-up for the Northwest
Climate change conferences are convening in Seattle and British Columbia this week.

By Brad Knickerbocker | Staff writer of The Christian Science Monitor

ASHLAND, ORE. - Itīs unlikely that Seattleīs 605-foot Space Needle will be under water any time soon, or that Alaska will become as famous for its fruit trees and berries as Oregon is.

But there are growing indications that the Pacific Northwest, from Oregon to British Columbia to Alaska, is warming up faster than elsewhere on the planet - a trend thatīs likely to accelerate, according to scientists at the University of Washington in Seattle.

Glaciers and snowpacks in the Cascade and Olympic Mountains are shrinking. So is Arctic sea ice in Alaska, where the permafrost in some areas is turning mushy. Record- setting temperatures in Anchorage this summer reached a balmy 79 degrees F. Water levels in Puget Sound are rising. Annual patters of stream flow are changing in ways that could adversely impact irrigation, domestic water supplies, fish runs, and hydropower production, while increasing the risk of forest fires and tree-killing insects.

In Seattle and Victoria, British Columbia, this week, agency officials, scientists, tribal leaders, and others are participating in major conferences addressing climate change.

"Even the most conservative scenarios show the climate of the Pacific Northwest warming significantly more than was experienced during the 20th century," the University of Washingtonīs Climate Impacts Group reported last week. The Puget Sound region warmed at a rate "substantially greater" than that of Earthīs average surface air temperature, the scientists found.

Iīd buy that. Iīm in the PNW (a bit inland and higher elevation ~3,000ft), yesterday it was +21C at a time of the year when -10C and snow is normal.

Donīt you use Farenheit in the PNW? I donīt know how to translate.

One thing I thought was funny last month, was that I noticed a hot spot that showed a couple of times offshore on the MODIS thermal images. You donīt usually see hot spots in the ocean on these.

The US is pretty much the only country that never went metric.
+30C is a nice summer day in CA
-20C is a cold winter day in NH
0C water freezes
100C water boils

+20C=85F
-20C=-5F
more or less.

It comes from HAARP.

HAARP Unveiled

"Further research reveals that starting in the late 1960īs, US and Soviet scientists began a series of joint efforts to warm up the Arctic (documented in Lowell Ponteīs 1976 book, "The Cooling"). At the 1974 Vladivostok Summit, US and Soviet leaders began weather engineering operations. By the late 1970īs, the US joined in itīs own weather-modifying ELF signals."

Weather Modification
[link to twm.co.nz]

"..an article which appeared in the September 12, 1989 edition of the Washington Post. This article reported on the 1989 Tokyo conference on global environment. The president of the World Bank, Barber Conable, who is also a Trilateral Commission member, gave a speech in which he outlined the long-range goals of the one world elite. In this speech he said, "while higher temperatures may cause ‘a number of natural disasters,’ they might also warm cold and unproductive lands in the north into productivity."

There is very good evidence that the one world group and the Soviets have been jointly involved in weather modification over the Northern Hemisphere since the early 1970s. In 1971 it was alleged that the U.S. and the Soviets started cooperating in secret weather modification projects. One such project was named POLEX, Polar Experiment of the Global Atmospheric Research Program, and another in 1973 was called AIDJEX, the Arctic Ice Dynamics Joint Experiment. It is purported that these experiments involved attempts to melt the polar ice cap... [more at the link.]"

And this article- oops

POLAR AXIS SPIN: THE COMING POLE SHIFT
updated 6-15-05
[link to www.greatdreams.com]

"The core of the Earth is revolving closer and closer to the crust of the Earth,"

And it too talks about polar warming, which the Pleiadians say that we have caused by our atomic explosions, and other tests, which destroy the fabric of matter by release of extremely small subatomic particles.

Sorry the engineer in me could not let this one go:

30 C = 86 F
20 C = 68 F
-20 C = -4 F

For those that actually want to convert temperatures;

To convert Celsius temperatures to Fahrenheit

Multiply the Celsius temperature by 9/5
Add 32 to adjust for the offset in the Fahrenheit scale.

Or

Double the Celsius temperature (multiply by 2)
Take 1/10 of this number (2 * 1/10 = 0.2) and subtract it from the number above.
Add 32 to adjust for the offset in the Fahrenheit scale.

That should be enough to get you to just look it up online next time.

Re: PNW warming more rapidly than anywhere on Earth!
a poster said that the Tsunami had caused a geopositional shift and the PNW had actually moved down to where California is īthoughtī to be

reporting and maps are being artificially manipulated to keep this from the conscousness, but weather canīt be stopped in itīs regular patterns, thus the PNW is experiencing what would be normal in California

sounds plausible???

Re: PNW warming more rapidly than anywhere on Earth!
One of the largest concentrations of petro chemical plants is located North, at the Arctic Circle. I think this is on the northern most fringes of Alaska, but it could be Canada.

think about the enourmous amounts of water these plants use to process, cool down.
It is then returned to the ocean.

Let me repeat that one.
IT IS THEN RETURNED TO THE OCEAN !!!!!!!!

Do you wonder at what temperature this water is returned to the ocean?

Do you wonder what new concoction of chemicals is now in this water?

Pollution regulations? If we donīt see it, do you think they are returning cold, clean air into the former pristine environment of the Arctic?

It is melting from underneath. Volcanic action must be a part of the scenario.

But, what are the oil companies doing while we donīt see ?

* There is a hole in the center of the arctic ice sheet. How do you suppose it got there?
Right in the center !
Anyone want to vote for A. a microwave beam
B. Haarp waves C. generated satellite beam

Or maybe some fool just simply flew over, dropped a little charge, and blew a hole in it.

It will be so much easier to get the oil.

Actually we did go metric, under the Carter administration IIRC. I think officially we still are.

Ya, see how much more of an effect that seems to have 82? Sorry OP, I didn´t mean to take things offtopic like that.

Another thing I have noticed in the thermals is there does appear to be an overall increase in the west the last few weeks as well. I posted this on another thread, but you can look at the data from the 25th to get an idea,
