Counter insurgency is a completely different beast than conventional war. The US can seriously fuck up a place. Think Libya, they tried to fight a conventional war and were mostly defeated or at least seriously disabled in 3 months.

I'm not a US fan boy either. We just have good missiles, good satellites, air superiority and lots of experience blowing shut up from afar. Not saying Iran couldn't throw some nice punches but the US spends more militarily than all other countries combined and that's kinda a big deal.

I am not a fan of war, however, you have to be extremely ignorant to make these statements. The US military does not suck at war(how old are you anyway), they suck at nation building. The only tactic that works against the US military is guerrilla/hit and run. The Iranian military infrastructure would be wiped out in a matter of weeks, and all they would be left with are the thousands of suicide bombers. Even Iran knows that they have no chance militarily against the US.
