safety bar musta been broken, all the chippers I ever worked with had a bar across the bottom you can get sucked in w/out passing it.......

It wasn't the chipper that got him.. It was the rope that was attached to branches that were fed into the chipper. Somehow, the rope got around his neck and cut it off. Can u imagine the rope burn??
