A student who created a website that allowed users to watch films and television shows for free can be extradited to the U.S. to face copyright charges, a court ruled today.

Sheffield Hallam University undergraduate Richard O'Dwyer, 23, allegedly earned thousands of pounds through advertising on his TVShack website before it was closed down by U.S. authorities.

O'Dwyer, from Chesterfield in Derbyshire, faces five years in jail if convicted of the allegations, which were brought following a crackdown by the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agency.
