I have had a similar phenomenon, but to describe it is difficult. It reminds me of electricity. I can feel pressure changes in my ears and this loud buzzing (for lack of a better word). The "buzzing" is what drives me crazy, more then the paralysis. I make myself come out of it. I´ll try your suggestion, and ask for it to be toned down next time, and see what happens.

The first few times this happened, I was in a panic. I awoke frightened and sure there was someone trying to contact me. I didn´t like it, so I have become quite adept at severing the link and being able to wake myself. It is kinda strange, I can talk to myself, even while sleeping.

I feel the need to explore your idea more indepthly. Next time I will ask for help.
