The St. Louis caves are one of the reasons why there was always so much beer making here. Great place to stash the kegs. Natural refrigeration.

Just as an aside, I heard that a lot of the houses down near the Lemp beer factory had beer taps right next to their faucet water taps in their homes! How cool is that? And every corner store sold beer (probably from taps that came directly from the brewery) and you could send your kid down with a bucket and the store guy would fill it up for you and back then, I guess the kids actually took the bucket of beer back home.

Maybe these are just urban tales, but still kinda' cool.

I'm very familar with the Basilica. My sister went to Rosati Kain HS which is next door and my last apartment was behind it so I could see it from my balcony. I have a weird Syncronicity story about the Basilica. Oh , and yes the mosaic art piece is breath taking. So one day I was riding my mountain bike to my parents house and as I was passing by the Basilica I noticed that my mom's car was parked right infront of the Basilica. I knew it was her car because she has a stature of Mary in her rear view mirror. So I locked my bike up and went to find out where she was. I figured she was in one of two places. The church praying or meditating or possibly doing a paint job in one of the apartment sky rises near by. She is an artist who does faux finishing for upscale clients & or interior designers. So I called her and told her where I was and she said she could see me from the sky rise across the street. She was doing a job for a Washington Uneversity Proffesor so I met her in the lobby. The job she was doing entailed lots of Greek writing on the ceiling and things I don't remember. Apparently the client was very very well traveled and was very into history and collecting artifacts from across the world. As a bonus for the job she was given a coin from 900 bc or 90 bc, big difference I know. So the interesting part which I think is a huge Coincedence is the following . About a month or two before i ran into my mom i met a guy who was a friend of a friend. He was basically a drug buddy. He said he was Miles Davis's grandson. The weirdest thing he said happened when I was trying to explain a picture in the book Behold a Pale Horse. The picture was of Michael Acquino. I was trying to explain who he was. So I guess he put 2 & 2 together and realized that the person I was talking about he had actually met before ! He told me that he had delivered pizza to his apartment two or more times. He said it was the sky rise directly across the street from the Basilica, the same one I ran into my mom at ! First of all I already knew but never mentioned the fact that Michael Acquino lived in the St.louis area for some years in the 90s. I thought it was in south county but who knows. I know for a fact I never said anything about that untill after he told me. So naturally I questioned him about this the best I could because I found it very hard to believe. He didn't even know the guys name so I asked him how and why do you think this is the guy I'm talking about? He told me he saw the guy on an episode of Geraldo Rivera once, which is true, and he also said the dude basically looked like he was in a Halloween outfit everytime he saw him. All black from head to toe with a widows peak and weird eyebrows. It was just really odd to be riding my bike to my moms house and to see her car right infront of the Basilica , her house is atleast 7 miles away from there, and for her to be in the very same building that I found out just weeks prio that Michael Acquino lived there. Also the job she was doing was a little out of the ordinary with the Greek writing and everything. Plus she got paid with ancient Greek coins. And I wonder why Michael Acquino chose to live across the street from the most famous church in st.louis ?

Be more specific 420. I know that the Feds own alot of land in Arkansas and that the SW missouri region & NW Arkansas region are very powerful places. I've heard alot about very rare and undiscovered minerals in the Arkansas area and I would assume alot of the entire Ozarks region has the same. Could you go into more detail 420?

Really, that's interesting. There have been lots of bodies found around the mounds and it's generally assumed that they were sacrificed but I would assume that maybe they were mass burial grounds or something other than sacrifices. Or they could have really been sacrificed. I've heard stories of a pale prophet visiting the Mississippian tribes and teaching them that sacrificing humans wasn't nessesary as well as other things. By the way , this pale prophet who sounds like Quezecaltal , said that one day he would return but not in the physical. What I really wanted to say though was a story I read about a very psychic woman who visited Monks Mound and said she could see silhouettes of native Americans dancing in a circle. I've also heard of bad groups holding weird ceremonies in the area but way more often than not I have heard people talk of the overwhelming positive spiritual energy they feel when near the mounds in Cahokia. One of my favorite stories I've heard about Monks Mound has an item from Atlantis burried beneath it.

Also the part about new minerals being discovered...Rita and Mark Hadley , whom I know personally...have a story.. Mark had a dream maybe 13-15 years ago...in his dream his Dad came to him and told him he would find a new mineral in his yard. The next day Mark went to his yard found this stone and sent to be analyzed. The report came back that it WAS a newly discovered mineral..The official name is Ottoite after his Dad and the common name is the Missouri Dream Stone...It is beautiful brown and pink striations thru it... I'm sure they have a page ...Rita and Mark have made some beautiful Jewelry that was displayed at Glory Days Antique store in Ironton, Sadly the store has just been sold as the couple is leaving town for MOntana, but if you are interested in their jewelry I'm sure there is a page out there.
They are also selling the castle they live in (Glory Days owners) I believe the name of the real estate company is wallingford group...there is some great history in this area but damn some of the people are totally strange...too much religion for me.
